In the text it says “She came out pulling at her gloves, face bright with rouge. I smiled.”When this happened it tells you that her face is bringing him happiness and that it lights up the setting from it being cold and dark but when she comes out his world seems brighter and happier that she is around him. Also in the text it states “A nickle in my pocket and when she lifted a chocolate that costs a dime I didn’t say anything.”When he did this it tells you that even though he doesn’t have enough money and won’t tell her and is willing to go through anything to get the chocolate for her and make her happy.

I think the poet from oranges feels in love. He feels that way

because he likes her and he has fallen in love with her. I think

he is in love because the way he treats her. He treats her like

a queen. In the poem it says, “I took my girl’s hand.” The poet

takes the girl’s hand and they walk two blocks while holding

hands.

The poet is in love with this girl because he would do anything for her. In the text it states “I took my girls hand in mine for two blocks, then released it to let her unwrap her chocolate. ” For instance, when you’re in love you’re going to want to be with them and hold hands and hug. When he holds her hand he is like protecting her and showing his love for her. But, when he lets her go, he doesn’t want to though he is letting her do her thing Also in the text, “... And when she lifted a chocolate that cost dime, I didn’t say anything. I took the nickel from my pocket, then an orange, and set them quietly on the counter. When I looked up, the lady’s eyes met mine, and held them, knowing very well what it was all about.” In my opinion, I think he is very good to this girl. He cares for her a lot to buy this even though he only has a nickel and two oranges, he still couldn’t afford it. When he saw a smile light up on her face he knew he was making her happy, and that made him very happy.

The poet feels warm and fuzzy, because he is in love. She makes him want to do all these different things for her, and he can’t bare to let her down. As the author said in the text, “I fingered a nickle in my pocket, And when she lifted a chocolate, That cost a dime, I didn’t say anything.” This is important because it shows that even though he couldn’t afford the candy bar, he was willing to try and get it anyways. Showing, that he just wants to make her happy, and for her to like him as he likes her. The author also says, “I took a nickel from, My pocket, then an orange, And then set them quietly on, The counter. When I look up, The lady’s eyes met mine, and held them knowing, Very well what it was all, About.” The boy was willing to try anything because he didn’t want to disappoint her. He had stared into the cashiers eyes, just hoping and praying that she would help him out letting him have the candy bar, for a nickel and an orange.

The poet feels a strong connection with this girl. He feels a strong connection with the girl because he likes her a lot. He feels nervous at first and by the end he was super happy because he’s in love. According to the poem “Oranges” it states “I fingered a nickel in my pocket, And when she lifted a chocolate that costs a dime, I didn’t say anything.” The boy wanted to buy her the chocolate even though he didn’t have enough money because he wants to make her happy and have her like him as he does her. “I took the nickel from my pocket, then an orange, and set them quietly on the counter. When I looked up, The lady’s eyes met mine, and held them, know very well, what it was all about.” The boy paid for her 10 cent chocolate with a nickel and an orange because he’s love with her and wanted to get it for her. The poet is in love, and was nervous and happy throughout the poem.

The poet is very happy and is in love with the girl. He loves her because she makes everything happy and makes things brighter. I know this because it says “I peeled my orange that was so bright against the grey of september that, from some distance, some might of lough i was creating a fire in my hands.” It also says that he was very cold until he was with her. This shows that even in the cold of september their love keeps him warm and happy and their relationship is like a new flame.

The poet feels happy because he loves having this girl in his life. I know this because every time he was with her everything was bright and when he was not everything was gray and cold. For example, “Frost cracking beneath my steps, my breath before me, then gone, as I walked toward her house, the one whose porch light burned yellow night and day in any weather.” This shows that when he’s not around her everything is gray and cold like when he was talking about the frost underneath his steps. Then when he is around her things turn bright like when he walked up to her house the porch lights shine bright yellow like any other day. So I guess you could say she lights up his day.

The poet has lusty, strong opinion on the girl. The poet has a strong opinion on the girl because he likes her, he feels anxious around the girl and excitable. Yet he cares for her, because he’s in love. In the poem Oranges “I fingered a nickel in my pocket, and when she lifted a chocolate that cost a dime, I didn’t say anything. I took the nickel from my pocket, then an orange, and set them quietly on the counter.”. Here the poet is giving up his nickel and his orange just so he could get the girl her chocolate bar. The poet is doing this because he likes the girl and would do anything just to make her happy.

According to the text, ”I fingered a nickel in my pocket, And when she lifted a chocolate that costed a dime, I didn’t say anything.” Later in the poem the author said, “Of newly plant trees.” In this poem and in this excerpt from it shows with her he is truly happy. In the drugstore when she picked a chocolate that he couldn’t afford he still tried to buy it for her anyway. And the trees symbolize the love between them sprouting or growing.

The Poet feels this way because he does truly love her. Because he wouldn't use his money on some random girl just for candy. He wants her to know how much he loves her. I know that the Poet in oranges loves the girl because.”I smiled touched her shoulder, and led her down the street.and “I took my girls hand in mine for two blocks.”
