         <description><![CDATA[<div>Autism:<br>Is a developmental disability that typically appears during the first 3 years of life.&nbsp;<br><br>IDEA, 2004&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;A developmental disability significantly affecting verbal and nonverbal communication and social interaction, generally evident before age 3, that adversely affects a child's performance.&nbsp;<br><br>Other characteristics:<br>Engagement in repetitive activities and stereotype movements, resistance o environmental change or change in daily routines, and unusual responses to sensory experiences.&nbsp;<br><br>Asperger Syndrome:<br>is the next most common PDD. With normal IQ however have social interactions with others.&nbsp;<br><br>Rett Syndrome:<br>Child must have normal prenatal and perinatal development, normal psychomotor development for the first 5 months, and normal head circumference at birth.<br><br>Childhood Disintegrative Disorder:<br>A child must have a normal pattern development through age 2. Then must demonstrate a regression of two skills.&nbsp;<br><br>Pervasive Developmental disorder:<br>When delays are exhibited in social interaction or communication or if stereotypical behaviors develop and the child does not meet the criteria for another PDD.<br><br></div>]]></description>
