I loved this book as a child because I could stare for hours at the illustrations. It really sparks creativity. I remember doing an activity in grade 3 where we all made our own plasticine pictures on old CD cases.

"WDYD with a problem?" revolves around a child who is plagued with a problem. The problem starts off as a dark cloud and as he avoids the problem, it grows larger and larger. Eventually he decides he needs to face his problem head on and views it as an opportunity. I chose this because it teaches children tools for emotional regulation, coping skills and conflict resolution. It allows for lots of dialogue and open ended questions as well to engage students.

To help them understand that differences in people is a good thing and it is important to welcome everyone who is different from them with a kind heart and open-mindedness. I also like how all students can see themselves depicted in the book.
