Howdy, y'all! I'll go first just to kick things off. A little about me: some of my interests are books, movies, music, video games, exercise, NOT cooking .... actually LOTS of things!

I'm the proud mom of four wonderful offspring, and the super-proud Mimi of six awesome grands - with another due in April! I've been teaching at Lone Star for a number of years, and I really enjoy this class.

I look forward to working with each of you, and hope that our course will provide some practical applications for you as you move from the academic world into your chosen career. Please tell us a little about you here as we begin our class, and I encourage you to respond to your fellow students' posts. Good luck to all!

Hey everyone, my name is Abree. I am in my second year at Lonestar and planning to become an upper elementary teacher. My plan is to teach either math or english. I have worked at a veterinary clinic for 8 and a half years and have lots of pets to show for it! I have two published poems that i wrote a few years ago, and am currently working on my third publication. My hobbies include reading, drawing, watching TV and hanging out with my pets. I hope to gain knowledge on writing in a professional manner for my future career.

Hello everyone!

My name is Kaitlyn. I am finishing my last semester of prerequisites here at LoneStar and then transferring to UHD in the Fall! I currently work at the Elementary school I attended as a little girl, which has been super cool and interesting, because I now work with some of the teachers that taught me. I am a SPED Resource Teacher Assistant and LOVE it. Not sure if I want to stay within SPED or if I want to stick with being a classroom teacher for a couple of years as a Bilingual teacher for Kinder or First grade...

Hi! I'm Baylea! I just recently got my Associates of Science and plan on transferring to Sam Houston in the summer. I am just getting some extra classes to transfer over in the meantime. I plan on majoring in Animal Science and becoming a Veterinarian. I currently work at a veterinary clinic outside of school and I love animals! My fun interests include listening to music, hanging out with my friends, and watching TV.

Hello everyone! My name is Marissa. I am currently working on completing my basic classes here at Lone Star. I plan to transfer to Texas A&M University in the upcoming Fall. There, I want to pursue a degree in Human Resources Development. I enjoy going to the gym, and I occasionally attend Pilates classes. I don't currently have a job, but I do plan on getting one soon, as I am only taking 3 classes this semester. I've also been going to bible study weekly with my mom, which I really enjoy. At home, I have a small dog named Bandit, and he just turned 10! I love animals, so I wish I had more pets, but for now, Bandit will do.

Hello everyone. My name is Martha Lucia Byers; I am working to become a math teacher. I work full-time with Tomball ISD as a paraprofessional providing in-class language support. I am from Colombia, and my first language is Spanish. My main focus is on my kids, a son in elementary school and my daughter in Junior High, and my goal of becoming a teacher. During my free time, I love spending time with my kids watching TV or doing something outside the daily routine.
