It’s ok to have uncomfortable conversations about identity because it helps up have a better understanding of who we are as people and who the others around us are as well. In session 2, I learned how to use a score card to see if books that I am introducing to students are diverse. These books, should also show people of color, and genders in a positive light. Students should also be able to make personal connections to books introduced.
