While adding English instruction to my tutoring, I have been using cognates to help build her Spanish and English vocabulary.

Tutoring has been good with my student! I look forward to it and so does he. He is doing better in his readings, I just think he is lazy about it. Overall, he is achieving so much in the little time that I have been with him.

a) My student does not want to practice her English so she instead makes herself translate everything to Spanish. It's beneficial because she quickly learns the translation, but negatively affecting her because she does it just so that she won't have to speak in English.

While playing a custimized fruit named bingo, my student has been able to ask what a word is if he doesn't know. I also ask him if they know what it is and I believe this helps him especially if I write the words next to each other and he sees them.

My student is starting to practice her reading. I have also completed 7 hours.

He has an understanding of basic vocabulary in Spanish, not so sure about complex vocabulary in Spanish , little knowledge of English vocabulary. We started to read more books, phrases which will help him develop his vocabulary, images also help him a lot

I’ve done 3 hours since I had to restart with a new student. It was overwhelming having to restart since I had started seeing progress with my first student. I feel behind and hope to complete my hours. My new student is very sweet!

part 1:

In my tutoring my student gets more excited to see me, and recently I've been implementing more cognate words to expand his knowledge of English. He is also more open to learn English because in the beginning he was more intimidated.

part 2:

I am having my student write more sentences in his jornal and when writing he noticed that he had to make one of his words plural that was the word 'hormigas' instead of 'hormiga' to complete his sentence.

part 3:

I have started my essay but the hard part for is making sure my examples fit the category.
