In this story the main character goes through grieving for the loss of her husband. In addition she realizes that she is "free" now from being oppressed by her husband though she cared for him. She ultimately dies as a result from her happiness.
I chose this picture because it reminds me of how the woman was joyful from her day dreams of her new life. I was left at the end of the story contemplating did she die before he arrived, I believe so. That is was her happiness of freedom that killed her, not the revelation of her husband being still alive.

This story is advice from a mother to her daughter. In the story the mother is harsh and matter of fact, almost angry that her daughter is growing up. The daughter is quiet throughout most of the story only pausing her mother briefly. I chose this Cinderella clip because when the stepmother is giving her instructions of what to do, there is a tone of underline superiority and resentment.

This is the story of a murder investigation of Mr John Wright. During the story there are two investigations going, one is formal with the Sheriff and one with two women they are noticing items trying to make sense of it all. In the end the ladies figure out the connection (the dead bird) but do not share it with the Sheriff. I found this song it relates to the story because she was like the bird in the cage wanting more in life, I also like the feel of the song I can only imagine how much anger she had for her husband.

This story was creepy and dark. This was a women who was losing her sanity, and her husband was her doctor. Her husband treats her like a child carrying her to bed, and refers to her as "little goose". He controlled her medically and in marriage, while obeying his orders to remain in the room she begins to fixate on the yellow wallpaper. Ultimately she goes completely insane, viewing herself as the woman from the wallpaper, and referring to her husband as "the man". It is ironic that by taking her to the rental house caused her demised. I chose this quote because I simply thought is was perfect her imagination was her insanity, it was the one thing she had control over.

This follows the same story as Glaspell's "Trifles"; however, in this story the point of view change to the women's perspective. The story kept the events in the same chronological order, but showed the conflict of regret of not reaching out and being a friend to her, because she was so lonely with out anyone to talk to. Again there are many uses of symbolism throughout the story the quilt, and the dead bird. Overall there is a theme of suppression of Mrs.Wright by her husband. I picked this picture because as the gentleman pointed out how messy her kitchen was, as if that was a direct reflection to her personality, in fact it was more from her husband dominate presence that influenced her behavior.

Also Martin Luther King Jr conveyed his dream to not be judge by his skin color, to live free to be known for how he lived. Dreams are full of hope, and hope is a valuable thing to have.
