It will also have wheels to go around just in case it will not fly. And it can store foods like little containers of nuts or corn. THANK YOU!

By Alyssandra
_______________________________________________

If I were able to design a cargo that will be dropped at 2 meters, I would make the outside layer out of a hard wood called the Australian Buloke so that it would not break. Although it is hard, it also weigh so much that when you drop it in sea it will sink because it’s mass is heavier than the water. So if the cargo was going to land in the ocean, I will make the outer layer out of pinewood instead of the Australian Buloke because it can float. But if the items inside will add more mass to the cargo that the pine wood can’t support it and will sink, I will add some inflatable boat that will inflate itself when it reaches the water. I will also add parachute attached to the box. The items inside the cargo will be covered with lots of bubble wrapper and lots of sponge inside to protect the items from breaking when the cargo is dropped.
___________________________________

Building a cargo drop
Building a cargo drop
By:katelyn Anne Bautista d.g

If i would build a cargo drop i would make it out of wood because it is able to mantain heavy and big loads so it wont sink and it can easily float.it could have a styrofoam, rubbery kinda thing so it lands smoothly and safely if people ride it and if there is a rocky road it wont be a bumpy ride for them.

Thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!🚘🚘

MATERIAL FOR A CARGO DROP

I choose uhwmpe and TRADITIONAL GENUINE SOFT PLAIN THICK WOOL UPHOLSTERY SEATING CURTAIN FABRIC because uhwmpe is a material that is very strong and can hardly break and the factors are it is bulletproof t in high density stages as well can take in great damage i would use TRADITIONAL GENUINE SOFT PLAIN THICK WOOL UPHOLSTERY SEATING CURTAIN FABRIC because it is a thick fabric and cannot let the items touch the outer material and this is the inner material also it is soft so nothing breaks

Cargo with Food Aid

If I would design a cargo, I would make it out of aluminium and the inside would be made out of Styrofoam, Velvet and cushioning so when it reaches the ground the food lands smoothly and it would have a parachute so it's reusable and it would carry food that is canned, cookies and nuts so that's it for now. THANK YOU FOR READING EVERYBODY.

If I would ever get a chance to build a cargo container I would make it from weathering steel which is not at all flexible but rigid and hard.It is also used for sculptures, facades and building panels. STEEL can be used as a good thermal conductor of electricity. One of the great property is durability and formability.

I think if I were build a cargo,I will use the high strength materials. The body is made of steel and the deck is made of wood. In this case the cargo will float even it is loaded of heavy loads. Before dropping,we should first identify the exact location of the drop point. We should drop the cargo on the clear area on the deck. If the drop is from 2 m to 3 m high I will use the inflated big air bag after deployed from the height.

For the interior, I would use layers of rubber and silicon to make the interior soft and durable. I would also add a metal handle that is very durable and then attach a Kevlar rope to it so that military helicopters can drop it down and the rope will be attached to the handle and then the supply box will be marked with a bright red paint which will make it obvious that it is a supply box. The people in need will open a small door with a lock on it. The key for the lock will be nearby so that the people can open the lock. The insides will be medical supplies, food, clothes, etc. Then after the people open the box the military can just pull the box back up because of the rope and can be refilled. This has been Lance of 5-A's presentation on material properties.

By : Gabriel Andrew E. Ganzon

The Base
First of all, the box needs to be sturdy enough to not be needed to keep on repairing it. Balsa wood is one of the lightest types of wood and it is available in the UAE so being very light can help it land slowly. Balsa wood is also not too expensive as a box with only food aid might just be around 100 AED.

What's inside the box?
The food aid can shake and make lots of movements that once it lands, it would probably be spoiled and messed up. To avoid this, it needs to be cushioned. Wool could do as that they're soft and they're also available in the UAE in a cheap price. Without any cushioning, I don't think it would be useful at all!!

Safety landing!
Balsa wood is light but that doesn't mean it would fall down safely. Balsa wood is not that strong so sponge at the bottom would be perfect for a safer landing. Some people might think it will just become heavier but if it's too light, the wind could blow it away from it's appropriate destination. Sponges are everywhere in the UAE while also being in a cheap price.

Let's 'wrap' it up!
Both cling wrap and bubble wrap would be good since cling wrap is usually used for luggage while bubble wrap for protection. Bubble wrap would need to be taped while cling wrap wouldn't need to which is a problem for bubble wrap <del>(Many ideas I saw put bubble wrap so I don't know if there ideas would work)</del>. So I thought we could use the cling wrap
over the bubble wrap since both are useful and are at a cheap price in the UAE. The weight is now a little affected but since cling wrap and bubble wrap are light, nearly nothing is changed.

What else?
The size will depend on the food aid but a size of at least 2 food aids would do. Food aid can come in many sizes so I can't really tell what would be the size.

True, all ideas said can and can't work. I wish the best for everyones idea to work.

Thank you for reading!

I think with a platform with soft texture ,and will dissolve over time to let the cargo move and when dropped with the cargo ship impact will reduce and with parachute too. The ship should should have a soft material or thick sponge on the bottom edge of the cargo so when we hit something or something hit us the sponge will reduce damaged being taken and impact . The box Could be wood but the inside wool and sponge and when the boxes or crates of aids move , when they hit inside the room of boxes and crate there will be wool covering the wallls to make sure they don’t break scatter nor hit the cargo and cause a bump.

Hope this is info was useful and a great idea
By: Marcus A.
Class: 5B

A polypropylene rope can drop the cargo one by one. The cargo should be covered with cling wrap if needed. Just like an inflatable raft, the rubber frame is inflated using compressed air at the time when the cargo is dropped on land or water, protecting the box from getting damaged when it lands on ground and helps it to float if it's dropped on water.

It can be re-used again. When deflated, the rubber frame occupies less space and can be easily repaired in case of a puncture.

Attached is a video showing my idea.

So I have a experiment for a cargo drop so the material we are using is metal or wooden crate but in this case we will use wood because it is durable, rigid and recyclable so this material I choose because like if we use a material like plastic it is very light so the food when dropped gets damaged before we begin we have to use a parachute this parachute for cargo drop is extraction military parachute for food aid and medicine but we use it also for military tanks and aircraft also other vehicles but we need to cover the food aid and medicine with bubble wrap to absorve the impact so in the experiment we cover the food aid and medicine with bubble wrap and then The crate will be made of wood and the parachute will be extraction parachute for military so that is it so it.when it will be dropped it will be durable and safe
