They were comparing her to a elevator making them dizzy when she is around them and she made them feel. In this novel men disrespect women in cruel and sexual ways. These women in the novel have to follow specific rules or they are punished. Some of the rules includes women can't read, write, and vote. Not too long ago women were not aloud to vote. Also the women their could not own property. “The Eyes of God run over all the earth” (Offred,176). I chose this quote because it involves god so they have religious teachings and, still this day we have religious teachings. In the story she has to get pregnant or she will be killed. So, throughout the story she is having sex trying to get pregnant because her life is on the line. "I remember that yearning, for something that was always about to happen and was never the same as the hands that were on us" (Offred,11). I chose this quote because Offred is saying how she wants to have sex to have a baby to save her life and also to be loved. Also in the story the doctor tries to get her pregnant because she still can't get pregnant. "Is that his hand,sliding up my leg? He’s taken off the glove" (Offred,61). I chose this quote because she is gonna have sex with the doctor trying to get pregnant so, she is not killed.
