Learning objectives: To understand the character of Mama.
To analyse some key quotations in the play.

 
Day 1: Watch the Powerpint I have made looking at some of the key quotes for Mama. There are sound buttons you can click on so you can listen to my explanation of each quotation. For each one explain what is happening in the play at this point.
Next, write down what each quote tells us about Mama’s character.

Day 2: Pick two quotations for Mama and write a PEEAL answering this question: how does Hansberry present the character of Mama?

2) Create a new Google Doc and share it with me or Ms Clements (if you are in her class). Call this Google Doc 'How to survive Year 7'

3)  List the challenges and difficulties that a Year 6 student faces when they start Year 7 in the Senior School. Think about as many different things as possible. 

4) List the challenges and difficulties that a new student to the school faces when they start Year 7 in the Senior School. Think about as many different things as possible.

5) Choose 5 of the things that you have identified as a problem and offer 2 - 3 solutions on how Y6 students or new students can overcome these difficulties. Be creative! Offer practical as well as humorous solutions!

6) Read the Key features of Persuasive Writing (attached)

7) Create 5 sentences using 5 different key features that you could use in the introduction to the leaflet that you will write entitled 'How to survive Y7: Life Hacks to Academic and Social Success'
