- Read each passage CAREFULLY! It can be easy to zone out during this part of the test but you need to work on staying focus and on task. Zoning out can cost you missing a key part in the passage or the author's purpose which will effect your overall understanding of the text.
- Keep time! Try your best to keep focus on the time. Try to stick to about a question per minute or less.
- Do not leave any questions blank! Use the process of elimination when confused on a question. If worse comes to worse just guess.

- For all three of these essays you need to be confident in your thesis. You need to write a strong thesis and defend it throughout your essay.

- Give yourself plenty of time to get ready. You do not want to put extra stress on yourself because you woke up late and are rushing.
- Have a good breakfast. Again, yes this does help with your performance on the exam. You want to have plenty of fuel to run on during the 3 hour exam.
- Check your materials multiple times before you leave. Make sure you bring your pens, pencils, snacks, and ID. By checking multiple times you will not have that "I feel like I forgot something" feeling which will reduce your stress.
