Example: Science, Technology, and Society (STS) is an interdisciplinary field that explores how scientific discoveries and technological innovations impact social, cultural, and political life—and vice versa. It emphasizes the idea that science and technology are not isolated, but shaped by and shaping human values, needs, and decisions.

The “Sugar Daddy of Science” is a metaphor for the funding source that bankrolls scientific research whether it’s governments, corporations, or foundations. Development of inventions, scientific experiments, and new discoveries are pushed through because it provided foundation, knowledge, funds, limited resources, and so on. Science is not a purely independent pursuit, it depends heavy on funding from governments, businesses, and other institutions. But this funding is given only if the research benefits their goals, like profit or power. In short, science can only progress when backed by money and interests, making it the "sugar daddy" of modern knowledge.

Ideal of Progress

Before the Scientific Revolution came into effect, people from past generations doubted their ability to obtain new things, in the sense that they simply wanted to maintain their existing capabilities, sticking to olden traditions and beliefs rather than acquiring new ones. It was not in their aim at the time to expand our capacity in understandiny how our world works. As stated in "The Ideal of Progress" by Harari, humankind had the potential to not only to change human courses, but also to end it. Furthermore, any attempt to go beyond human limitations would inevitably lead to disappointment and disaster. Today, progress has lead us closer to solving our problems in the world as one united community, from NGOs to the like.

Ignoramus – is a latin word meaning ‘we do not know’. A word that means we do not know everything, and what we believe now may change as we learn more. The scientific revolution was a revolution of ignorance as the important questions in the minds of humans were not answered.

Knowledge is power:

The concept of "knowledge is power" emphasizes that understanding gained through observation and experimentation allows individuals to influence and improve their lives and surroundings. It highlights how scientific knowledge, in particular, has enabled humanity to develop inventions, medicine, and solutions that shape society. This idea is not solely about knowing the truth, but about how effectively one uses knowledge to gain empowerment. Just as thinkers during the scientific revolution unlocked nature’s secrets, knowledge continues to be a driving force behind progress and control.
