Chailey School has been selected to take part in the Tesco Stronger Starts community funding scheme. We are raising money to fund our careers trips and activities for KS3 and KS4 students during the 2026–2027 academic year.

These trips give students vital real‑world experiences, helping to raise aspirations and support informed choices about post‑16 and post‑18 pathways by meeting employers, visiting workplaces and exploring future options.

How to cast your vote

• Make a purchase of any value

• Receive one red or blue token per transaction at the checkout - if you aren't given one, there is usually a box that you can help yourself to tokens from 🙏

We are seeing an increase in students wearing oversized jogging bottoms for PE. We would like to remind families that jogging bottoms should be appropriately sized, not overly baggy, and fitted with an elasticated, cuffed or tapered ankle.

Oversized jogging bottoms are not suitable for PE activities and may present a safety risk, potentially resulting in injury.

Please could I ask that you ensure that your child wears appropriately sized jogging bottoms as described above, to support both safety and participation in PE lessons.

We want to pronounce students' names accurately and we're aware that some students may find it difficult to correct a teacher when they get it wrong. Therefore, if your child has a difficult to pronounce name, please feel free to email office@chaileyschool.org with a phonetic pronunciation of the game or if you prefer, a recording of the name being said. We will disseminate this to staff and seek to get it as right as possible.

Dear Chailey Families,

As we come to the end of another busy week, I would like to thank you for your support during the recent spell of extreme temperatures. Your understanding and cooperation have helped us ensure that our students remained safe and comfortable throughout the week.

Looking ahead to next week, students who are in school may wear their Chailey PE kit throughout the week, home clothes for the Sponsored Walk on Friday. No blazers will be required.

This week we also had the pleasure of saying our final farewell to our wonderful Year 11 cohort at their Prom, held at the beautiful East Sussex National. It was a fantastic evening and a fitting celebration of their time at Chailey. We wish every one of our Year 11 students the very best for the future.

Good luck to our Year 10 students as they begin their Work Experience placements next week. We know they will be excellent ambassadors for the school and gain valuable experiences. We also wish our Year 9 students a fantastic time as they head off to Wales Camp this weekend. We hope they enjoy the challenge, adventure and opportunities that lie ahead.

We are looking forward to a successful Curriculum Enrichment Week next week, with a wide range of exciting activities for our students. The week will culminate in our annual Sponsored Walk on Friday, and we hope everyone enjoys taking part while raising money for our school.
