Rainforests are the Earth's oldest living ecosystem . They are so amazing and beautiful. A rainforest can be described as a tall, dense jungle.

The reason it is called a "rain" forest is because of the high amount of rainfall it gets per year.

There are as many as 30 million species of plants & animals live in tropical rainforests. Such as boa constrictor / macaw / tree snail / toucan / spider monkey / sloth / morph butterfly / rhinoceros beetle / poison arrow frog / carnivorous plants / strangler fig etc.

Why go to the Rainforest ?

The world's rain forest are currently disappearing at a rate of 6000 acres every hour. It is beautiful , quite & a great experience. HURRY AND GO SEE AT LEAST ONE OF THEM BEFORE THEY ALL BECOME EXTINCT !!!!

Rain forests only cover a small part of the Earth's surface - about 6%. Rain forests can be found in Central America / The Amazon / Africa / Southern Asia & Australasia.

How does it help us ?

Rainforests are the source of many items that we all use in our own homes. We eat several foods from the rainforest & many medicines are made from ingredients found only in these areas. Such as chocalate / cinnamon / sugar / rubber / medicine & pineapples.
