A few of my strengths that I have is I manage my time well and can figure out how much work I need to do to stay on track for a due date. I am also a fast learner, but like to have plenty of practice opportunities in order to feel good about what I’ve learned. I can also work independently or in groups well, though I do prefer working alone. In school I’m most interested in history and music (very different, I know) and outside of school I enjoy dance, youth group, reading and hanging out with friends. I enjoy reading for stories and enjoyment rather than comprehension and analysis but I know I’ll have to do that here. I can’t think of anything I’ll need specifically in school just that I like it when there is feedback given on assignments even if it’s something little, so I can improve for the next assignment.

Family and Background

I am 15 years old and I live with my two parents, older brother (also 15) and younger twin siblings (both 13 and in 8th grade). I have always lived in Blaine, Minnesota, only moving once, in late elementary school.

The second picture above shows me and my sister with my two toddler cousins (4 and 1). I really enjoy seeing my family as often as I do and love hanging out with my younger cousins and watching them grow. I wish I got to see my dad’s side of the family more, but they live in Indiana-where he grew up- and it’s about an 8 hour drive to get there.

I’ve had a lot of my friends since elementary or middle school and enjoy hanging out with them when I’m not busy with activities.

Summer

This summer, Ive been really busy with everything dance, which is a huge passion of mine. In June we had nationals practice before going to Austin to compete (picture above). Then in July, I went to LA to take classes (there is also a picture from that trip above) before having a few weeks of a break. In August we had boot camp for all 4 weeks as well as auditions for teams. My family and I spent a lot of time at my grandparents house where they live on a lake. We like to go skiing, tubing and swimming there on weekends.

Something going well: Dance

I was super happy a few weeks ago when teams came out for my studio. I got placed on the oldest team there which means that Im on a team with so many dancers that I’ve looked up to in the past. I got to be initiated onto this team a few weeks ago too, which was super fun (it’s all laughter and funny things). Im looking forward to starting the new season soon and learning all of my new dances as well as competing with everyone on stage this spring! As an older dancer, I also get to help younger girls with their solos and have a larger role in our production.
