         <description><![CDATA[<p>I would like students engagement in the course to be fun, interesting, impactful, collaborative, and educational. I would like the course to be more geared toward connecting with students instead of feeding them information that doesn't connect with them on a personal level. Nevertheless I want to keep the course connected to the main goal of leading students toward choosing a major confidently  that suites them.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <title>1st Class Engagement Activity:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Jeopardy activity- during the activity we will put our students in groups depending on the class size. Then we will portray a jeopardy slide show on the board which list categorizes that are associated with concepts students are learning or perviously learned already during that week.  After we will select the group that raised there hands first and allow them to pick a category of there choosing. We can probably use a buzzer button app or if you have buzzers we can use that to determine which group answers a question first. Each team will get 30-40 seconds to answer a question, if a team failed to answer then we will flip the question to the next group. If none of the teams get the answer correct then nobody will receive points. The point system will go from 100(minimum points earned)-500(maximum points earned).</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>]]></description>

         <title> 2nd-Class Engagement Activity: Ice breakers </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p> Ice breakers are an effective way to communicate with students in the beginning of the class to connect with them and see how there doing overall.</p><p><br/></p><p>Options:</p><ol><li><p>Highs and lows activity: in this activity we can ask each student what was one high point and low point they experienced during the week. I believe this is a good exercise to see how students are doing mentally and physically.</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><ol start="2"><li><p>Century swap activity:  during the activity we can give each student a posted note or note card and ask them to write down what century they would want to live in and why. We can give them 3-5 minutes to put there thoughts on the note card. After we can let each student share with the class what they wrote. I believe this is a good exercise for people to get to know each others dislike and likes.</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><ol start="3"><li><p>Freshman fears activity ( this activity can be for the first day of class maybe): in this activity we can put our students in different groups and have them formulate  a common fear they all have about college. Then have them discuss this for 5 minutes within their groups. After that each group can share with the class their fear and different groups can give their advice on how to conquer that fear. I can also give some advice about how I conquered these fears as well.</p></li></ol><p><br/></p><p>(The most important thing about these icebreakers is to have students actively thinking and engaging with one another.)</p>]]></description>

         <title>Active Communicator </title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p><br/></p><p>-I want to be able to communicate with my students in an effective way by creating a groupme for our class so I can have an active line of communication with my students.  I can help them with assignments, post daily announcements about events in the course, and also get them comfortable with communicating with each other by using this app.</p><p><br/></p><p>-I want to be an active listener when students are talking so I can be able to communicate with them in an effective way.</p><p><br/></p><p>-Also if it is possible I want us to have weekly meetings  where we discuss our plans on what information will cover a couple of days before class. We can talk about what ways we can improve on are style of teaching and give each other feed back about our weakness and strengthens.
