How do you use your core curriculum with other resources?
How will you integrate Achieve3000 with your core curriculum?

I posted the articles thought question on Padlet. This way it gave the students the opportunity to read other student responses and led to a rich class discussion. Padlet also gave voice to the non-speakers in the group.

I found that giving students an opportunity to improve their class grade by doing additional work in Achieve 3000 was very successful.
I plan to encourage students to select topics that they are interested in more often.

I plan to train students to rotate to the classroom computers to work on their assigned articles

I appreciate the sequence of the lesson on a template. I understand how the student progression must have at least 2 articles per week and minimal 8 per month. I will make sure to pull reports once per week to see the progression of my student lexile levels. I will be planning paired units following theme from Achieve and Edge.

I will utilize the ELA Challenge Course lessons plans for practice. I will also teach the Standards by utilizing the current articles and model the 5 step process.

Poll questions are great to start a debate in whole group and small group.

I taught W. History and Economics last year. Next year will be my first year teaching English 3. I am excited about the content of Collections in 11th grade English. I am also interested in learning how to integrate Achieve 3000 lessons next year.

I used the thought question as the Do Now, and engaged the students in a pre-reading activity/discussion... The discussion/ brainstorm served helpful when engaging whole group with the extended article.
