To learn what possibilities exist and to always be searching for those that might someday work. In order to do this there is a certain level of dissatisfaction required. The gaining of knowledge is what drags the hypothetical man out of the cave and into the sun. And while blind at first he gains sight eventually and begins to see the world. Not just the shadows. And while he might not understand the things that aren’t shadows at first, he can recognize the shadows in the world, which allows him to learn more and start identifying more. Education doesn’t mean sitting in a classroom listening to someone talk. That’s school. They’re different. Education is seeking answers, constantly asking why, no matter how hard it is to discover the light. Because once you do your life suddenly rolls out in front of you. And you are educated and ready to go out there and achieve purpose, a life worth living. Education in general gives you the ability to pursue more in life by being able to understand and experience. You gain your own experiences and way of thinking through your education. You conquer your own pains to break out of your own prison and expand your mind. In my further education post-high school, I hope to find something that I am greatly passionate about and to use that passion to make the world a better place. It may sound cliche, but I do want to help people and have a unique human experience. I hope to continue to strive for the best version of myself by pursuing a better education.

Children are always so excited to learn about not only what is taught by their parents and teachers but also what is being taught to them by the world around them. They desire the enlightenment that education can give for them. As we grow older I feel like we take advantage of that in a way because we have already learned so much and we already know so much, and there isn’t anything more to learn. In know way is there anyway to actually a way to reach the light, but the slow progression toward the light is what we should aim for and expect from our education.
