Fusion food is not a threat. Traditional foods are created by fusing different ingredients or culinary influences over time, is a common aspect of food evolution. Thus in that sense, traditional food can already be considered fusion food because it's made from ingredients fused together to create the dish. The dish is deemed as "traditional" by majority of society because of their black and white view of categorizing food into traditional or fusion, which is narrow-minded and traditionalistic. The only differences are the dilution the original tradition of making the dish and it's supposed authenticity. For all you know, some deemed as traditional foods could have been fusion dishes of original foods from generations ago.

From this, we can see how fusion food seems to be getting more popular, this leads to a high chance of traditional food to be ignored and forgotten. When fusion food continues to get more and more popular, people would rather turn to fusion food rather than traditional food, this would lead to traditional food being less relevant in the present day in the culture. Therefore, fusion food is a threat to traditional food as there is potential for traditional food to be overlooked due to fusion food.

the thing about traditional food is that it is unique and it has history and culture in it. The fact that fusion food combines two completely different cultures to it, it is kind of like a disrespect towards the culture because they are two separate things and you associate them together. It is a threat to traditional food and its culture

I think that fusion food is a threat to traditional food. In today’s age and society, many stallholders are choosing to deviate away from traditional food and introduce the concept of fusion food to attract younger customers. With many stalls at traditional festivals like the Ramadan Bazzar, there is often little traditional food being sold, which defeats the purpose of the event. Source C states “the past decade has seen fewer stalls selling traditional food at the Ramadan Bazaar. There are instead more hipster and fusion offerings, which are sold at much higher prices” . This some highlights that traditional food is dwindling and that overtaking it in terms of popularity is now fusion food. Hence, it makes me have the opinion that fusion food is a threat to traditional food.

i think that fusion food is not a threat to traditional food as it does not lose its authenticity and identity or traditional taste but rather emphasises it by combining it with another culture, enhancing cultural diversity and allowing people to enjoy them differently.

I think fusion food is a threat to traditional food. Mixing different culture’s food together may cause dilution in culture. This is when you mix different culture’s food which results in the loss of identity. The original ingredients, their place of origin, the way the food is being prepared changes and looses its meaning.
