I’d try to keep my voice calm and not make it sound like I’m blaming them. I know my friend doesn’t mean to be unsafe, but sometimes people don’t realise how risky it feels for passengers.

“Hey, I can text them back for you if you want to keep your eyes on the road.”
Sometimes friends just get distracted or feel pressured to answer messages. I’d offer to help so I’m not just saying ‘don’t do that’—I’m giving an easy fix. It keeps the vibe positive but still makes the trip safer.

“I don’t feel safe when you drive like that. If you keep speeding, I’m going to get out when we stop.”
It sounds harsh, but I’d only say this if they ignored me after asking nicely. My safety has to come first. True friends wouldn’t risk someone getting hurt just to look cool.
