         <description><![CDATA[<div>In Colombia, academic desertion in higher education reach almost 70 % for low income students and for high income students are only of&nbsp; 10 %. This situations is so shocking.&nbsp;<br>The factors associated to academic desertion are based on four domains: individual, familiar, academics and community factors; there is a lineal relationship between risk factors and desertion, more risk factors means more probabilities to quit off their education.<br>&nbsp;<br>&nbsp;The academic desertion of the young people is 13,7% (IC95%, 11,6-16,0%), the proportion is higher in women compared to men (16 versus 12%).&nbsp; Unschooled young people&nbsp; more often have children, do not participate in community groups, have alcohol and psychoactive substance use, the head of the household has a lower level of education, in the rural area, in a state of poverty and have greater family dysfunction.<br><br>Currently the government is investing in education but not in the basic needs.<br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Low socioeconomic status of families generates less expectations with regard to education, they must work to generate economic incomes for they can survive. Secondly the consequences of familiar dysfunction is a lack of emotional support to their sons since they don’t have the necessary tools to motivate them to study and have a better future through high quality education, which means that children must prioritize what is most important: family, job or study. It’s so frustrating because people can't see education like an opportunity that improves their life quality and helps them.<br><br><br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Low socioeconomic status is a problem and don’t allow access to high quality education, this affects negatively the lives of these people and generates desertion in students, especially the rural students. I'm disgusted with this, but it’s possible that if they have better economy than they will foster to study and they probably will have a better future .<br><br></div><div><br><br></div>]]></description>
