This is our reflection from our practice (what we have done, what we will improve next time) . Next time I think that we should practice more on our unison so that we won't get the beat messed up and try to stay as a group, not an individual (since when we play, we are off beat and worry to much about ourselves rather then cooperating as group). The problem that I faced today was when choosing our my rhythm, I get confused since I don't know which rhythm to choose and what to play but I got that figured out after a while by listening to different rhythms over and over again.

(20/10/16)
We finished most of our rhythm and beats but at first, we didn't listen to the instruction carefully so all of the beats that we played are made up. After performing to the class (after 10 minutes of practicing) we noticed that our rhythms are all wrong so we need to start over by watching the video and choosing out the rhythm all over again. I choose the 1st rhythm from the video and the 5th rhythm for out poly rhythm section, then everyone started choosing their rhythm and put them all together. But at last, we finally choose out our rhythm and got the first part done. The problem that I faced was choosing out the rhythm since a lot of the rhythm in the video is hard and confusing. I learned that when playing the drums in groups, you can't really choose a rhythm that stand out too much by itself because you want to blend in with everyone to make the song better

(28/10/16)
Today, we finished all of our rhythms (Which means that we finished the whole entire drumming song. I have all of my improvisation section, unison, poly rhythm, and call and response. The problem that I faced today was the improvisation part since when Ngoc started improvising, I didn't know which and what rhythm to play in order to match the beat. But after a several times of trying, I finally got the hang of it. I learned that when playing together as a group, you can't have any paused point (unless it is in the song), everything need flow smoothly from one part to another since when we were performing in front of the class, our group always paused for a second or two and then move on to the next section. (which makes the whole entire song not flow smoothly). All that our group need to do now is to teach Mateo the rhythms and beats and then we are ready to perform.

Drumming 4 (Performance)

(11/3/16)
Today, my group performed our drumming song. In my opinion, our group did really well since we did what we practiced, we followed signs that we gave each other in order to know when each section ends. Like at the end (in the improv section) I looked at Bao Pow and moved my eyebrows as a signal to Bao Pow to tell everyone that the section end. Also for our unison section, we decided to play the rhythm 5 times then move on to the poly rhythm. The poly rhythm was a little bit hard for us since some rhythms are longer than other but we tried our best to finish at the same time. The call and response was probably the easiest for us. Before the performance, me and Bao Pow taught Mateo his rhythm and our rhythm in order for the performance to be good. The problem that I faced was when I play my poly rhythm, I keep on getting messed up and played the wrong rhythm, so I decided to count 1,2,1,2,3 (since that was m rhythm) and it helped me a lot. I learned that giving signs to each other is extremely helpful when playing in a group . (so that your team members know when the section end and start)
