The Death of Osama Bin Laden

In 2001 the two world trade centers were hit by planes in a terrorist attack led by terrorist group Al Qaeda; these attacks killed nearly 3000 people and left thousands injured. Behind all of this though was Osama bin laden the leader of this terrorist organization. After the attacks president George Bush addressed the nation and said that they will find the people who did this to serve them justice and that there will be major battles and conflicts. On October 7th 2001 the USA declared war on Afghanistan in retaliation to the attacks and to find Bin Laden. As the war went on Bin Laden vanished without a trace this was a big issue as the USA had no idea where their most wanted man was. Not up until now president Barack Obama got intel on where they think Osama may be. Obama authorized operation Neptune Spear and on the night of May 1st 2011 almost 10 years later after the attack a team of Navy Seals busted into the compound where he was hiding, and killed him. A lot of issues and challenges had led up to this moment for the people of the USA. They had been to war in Afghanistan with American soldiers losing their lives and becoming injured. So when the Americans heard about the news of Osama Bin Laden's death they erupted in joy and saw this as a momentous achievement that marks a victory for America for everyone. His death also sparked many parades and gatherings of chanting joy. In conclusion you can see how Presidents George Bush and Barack Obama helped defeat the most wanted man in America to serve justice to those who had lost their lives in the 2001 terrorist attacks. Even after many challenges in Afghanistan and the challenges that led them to get to that point. You can also see how Americans came together after his death to celebrate and to be as one country together and to remember the people who had died on September 11th.

Present Day Connection to Osama Bin Laden death

During the Obama Era a lot of things happened to ensure the safety of USA citizens from foreign countries. An example of this is the death of Osama Bin Laden. Like mentioned in the previous paragraph he was a widely known terrorist in charge of the terrorist network al qaeda. After the 9/11 attacks and when Barack Obama got elected president in 2004 one of his main goals was killing Bin Laden and he did successfully 7 years later. Flash Forwarding to the present day you can see how the Obama era had a positive effect on present day America as he had influenced many changes to make our country safer from foreign countries. Some of these changes were the government making sure to prioritize focusing on homeland security and develop a security framework to protect our country from large scale attacks directed from overseas like 9/11. The Obama era had also made sure to improve airport security to make sure it would make a positive impact for years to come and it still is as no terrorist attacks had happened on US soil up to date since. Another way the Obama era has affected America during the present day is that it has affected me to make sure that I am safe in the USA because all of the things that I listed are used to make sure me and everyone in the USA is safe. During Obama's presidency he had also taken over the war in Afghanistan. This is a really big current day connection as this war had only ended 2 and a half years ago and during this war many positive changes happened to make sure the USA was safe. Obama made sure to get rid of as many terrorist organizations as he could. Some of these include the Taliban and al qaeda, two very destructive terrorist organizations. Though he had not completely gotten rid of these he had destroyed many of their training camps and greatly decreased their members. All of these things show a current day connection to why the Obama era is still showing a positive effect on America as he made sure to do these things and implement policies to make sure that the USA is a safe and secure place.

Iran Nuclear Deal

In 2015 many world nations including the United States drafted an idea which was known as the Iran Nuclear deal. This deal made it so Iran could not develop any nuclear weapons. Iran was a very powerful nation that the world and the United States had been afraid of. They were worried that with all of the nuclear weapons they have it could be a major threat to america. In 2018 President Trump withdrew the United States from the deal. He said that it had failed to curtail Iran’s missile program and regional influence. Iran began ignoring limitations on its nuclear program a year later. Because of deadly attacks on Iran in 2020, as time went of the deal got very shady Iran had disobeyed the deal and The USA was told that in early 2023 Iran had enriched trace amounts of uranium to nearly, weapons grade levels, in result of this it had sparked a international alarm and after two years of of and on talks and Tehran and Washington said that they would go back to the original idea the JCPOA had nowhere near a compromise and as of now there is no agreement.

Present Day Connection to Iran Nuclear Deal

In 2015 president Obama signed the Iran Nuclear act like said in the previous article this act was made so Iran would not have access to nuclear weapons. This affected America as they thought of Iran as a threat to them as they had some of the most nuclear weapons in their arsenal. This had an effect on present day America as for a couple years the act did work, which ensured that the USA and many other countries would be free from having to worry about Iran and their nuclear weapons. This also affects present day America as since Iran has disobeyed the nuclear act this means that they are back with nuclear weapons in their arsenal. This could be very alarming to the world and the USA as since Iran is very close allies with Russia and there is an ongoing war between Ukraine and Russia right now this could ring some bells that Iran could possibly help fund Russia in this war and promote nuclear warfare. And even just recently Iran has increased its stockpile of uranium enriched weapons making it even more alarming. All though all of this is going on, The USA is aiming to lower tensions with Iran, as they fear they could become more unpredictable after the death of its president Ebrahim Raisi just last week.
