         <description><![CDATA[<p>Anaerobic </p><p>4 ATP Produced</p><p>High Intensity, Short Duration</p><p>Carbs = primary fuel</p><p>Occurs in cytoplasm </p><p>1 6 carbon glucose molecule can produce 2 3 carbon pyruvate </p><p>Pyruvate can become Acetyl CoA or Lactate depending on intensity</p><p>Produces 2 NADH &amp; 1 FADH</p><p>Lasts 1-3 min </p><p>Begins with glucose from blood (net:2 ATP) or from glycogen in muscle (net: 3 ATP)</p><p>PFK is rate limiting enzyme</p><p>Insulin inhibits PFK but stimulates Glut-4 (pulls Glucose from blood)</p><p>H+ ions can accumulate and promote lactate production (fatigue)</p><p>High Carb diet is ideal for increasing duration with higher intensities</p><p>Takes <b>~</b>5 sec to activate </p><p>Calcium, ADP, Pi, and EPI stimulate glycogen phosphoralase </p><p>Calcium also stimulates Glut 4</p>]]></description>
