POWTOON: TO CREATE ANIMATED PRESENTATIONS

I know several interesting tools but I consider this tool: “Learning designers”  a very useful to plan a lesson in class, because it is very motivating and it is allow to distribute the different step of a lesson neatly.

My lesson plan concern the topic of “The right to a healthy and safe Nutrition in the Earth”, in different subject: law, science of nutrition, science of the Earth, english, history.

The students in Cooperative learning, after have wrote and listened videos of the teacher,  write a report on the concept of quality and safe nutrition, initiatives needed to make it fair in the world, avoing waste and protecting the planet. Their report using some Tools: Canva, Powtoon, Picktochart, CBB, should be enriched with multimedia inserts, as video, photo, music… 

The students work in group of 5 and after made their report by tool, have made a presentation by a new Smart as LIM. I want to stimulate students to reflect on the importance of fundamental and human right to a healthy and safe power of each individual. The environment and fair power of the population of the planet, avoiding waste. They reflect also on the need for appropriate regulations and individual behaviors that ensure compliance. Inspire students to produce personale considerations and to make suggestion.

I have liked very much this work for me and my students.

After, they search materials by tools (Penguin; Newsela), they use Rewordify to understand the texts; they use also Telescopictext to write phrases.
The students explain how the content of art. 1/33 of the Italian Constitution, can be includes in their future activities waiter
Then, they answer to the questions and make the texts using the tools (CBB, Padlet, Powtoon, Press, Sway) 

Each groups will make: a ebook by CBB; a presentation by Prezi, a presentation by Padlet, a presentation by Powtoon; a presentation by Sway.
At the end they show an oral English presentation of their works.

I think that Extensive reading is an important approach who involves students reading long texts or large quantities for general understanding, with the intention of enjoying the texts. Students are allowed to choose the books they read, depending on their interests. In this way students are encouraged to read for pleasure and should become better readers, they read quickly and enjoyably with adequate comprehension and they don’t need a dictionary.

Then, it helps students to build reading speed and reading fluency.

I haven’t tried it with my students, yet.

A lesson plan is an important and professional part of teacher’s job who considering his teaching situation and his particular students. 

I make always a lesson plan because it is a framework for a lesson, it is the map of my professional work, it shows where I start, where I finish and the route to take to get there, and by it, I engage my students. This means getting the students interested in the subject, in the class and in the language point and hopefully enjoying what they are doing.

Each lesson plan must contains these stages: Engage, Study and Activate, three important considerations for any lesson. Every activity, every exercise, every part of a lesson should fit into one of these categories. But also, it must contains: Aims, Variety, Flexibility and Technology.

In my Week 4’s lesson plan I have planned a variety of chronological activities in foreign language (english), using cooperative learning’s methodology: 

1) discussion with brain storming into the classroom; 

2) listening of video by WebApp/WebTools (Huzzaz, Youtube, Vimeo);

3) search, extensive reading and comprehension by Week 4’s WebTools (Pinterest, Newsela, Penguin, Rewordify, Immersion Reading…);

4) selection of materials of members of each group;

5) writing by WebApp/Tools (CBB, Prezi, Padlet, Powtoon, Sway, Picktochart);

6) student’s presentation by Lim
