         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong><em>Introduction</em></strong></li></ul><div>With the improvement of economic and social level, sports cause has been developed, sports news report has also been developed, there is no denying that it is a very important variety of news reports, with a unique international.<br>&nbsp;Gitlin (2003) proposed that frames serve as criteria for selecting, emphasizing, and presenting information, aiming to address queries about events and meanings. Frame theory has rich applications in sports news communication as well. In terms of communication, sports events exist both in real life and in the media. It can be said that viewers or readers perceive events as a kind of "imitation reality" presented by the media. As a result, different media reporting perspectives and positions will lead to different audiences' understandings of event reports.<br>This paper will focus on the difference between the Sports coverage of Chinese and British.</div><ul><li><strong><em>Research Question</em></strong></li></ul><div>In their coverage of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, how do the Chinese media represented by <em>People's Daily Overseas Edition</em> and the British media represented by<em> BBC News </em>differ?</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong><em>Limitations</em></strong></li></ul><div>Through the simples’ outlets may not fully represent their respective countries' media coverage, and other media may have varying perspectives and reporting styles. Given the extensive coverage of major sports events like the FIFA Women's World Cup, a larger and more comprehensive sample of sports news media reports would be needed.</div><ul><li><strong><em>Further analysis</em></strong></li></ul><div>In future studies, longitudinal comparisons of sports news coverage in China and the UK can be conducted to analyze changes in the coverage of the FIFA Women's World Cup over different years, possibly influenced by international events or the political climate. Additional methods, like CAD for language analysis, can be employed to compare the differences in media reports from both countries.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li><strong><em>Findings</em></strong></li></ul><div><strong>Number</strong></div><div>There were 165 reports on the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup, 38 from <em>People's Daily overseas edition </em>and 127 from <em>BBC News</em>. <em>People's Daily overseas Edition </em>has more preamble reports and fewer follow-up reports than <em>BBC News.<br></em><strong><em>Theme</em></strong></div><div><em>People's Daily Overseas Edition</em> mainly focuses on the coverage of matches, and the coverage ratio of players, fans and coaches is significantly lower than that of <em>BBC News.</em></div><div><strong>Position</strong><mark><br></mark><em>People's Daily Overseas Edition</em> and <em>BBC News</em> are mainly neutral reports, with a similar proportion of positive reports and negative reports.</div><div><br></div><ul><li><strong><em>Conclusions</em></strong></li></ul><div>The amount of coverage reflects the diverging attention that China and England have received at the FIFA Women's World Cup, with Chinese state media more actively covering their own teams and international media more broadly. The differences in reporting topics reflect the focus of media coverage and audience attention, highlighting the diversity of national and cultural attention to sports news. This research reveals how media are influenced by the environment. The reporting position reflects the cultural, political and social background of the country or organization. As an international news media organization, both maintain an objective and serious attitude towards the world event.</div>]]></description>
