In South Korea, winters are usually long and dry. Summers are very short, hot, humid, and rains a lot especially in August. Springs and falls are mostly dry and clear. Since in summer it rains a lot and has plenty of sunlight, South Korea don't have to worry about drought. That means that Korea has plenty of crops to grow. In summers, they grow a lot of crops like corn, sweet potatoes, potatoes, soybeans, wheat, and even more! In winters, they don't grow anything however they harvest all the crops they grew. This is important because South Korea do world trades and in order to that and make money, they need crops especially wheat.

However, winters are extremely long with it being almost 4 months! That means less time to grow crops which is a big problem. Less time to grow crops meaning less crops which means less money. Korea also have cold winters which means harder transportation. Overall, winters have a lot of drawbacks.

Natural Resources

South Korea has a lot of natural resources. Some natural resources found in South Korea are coal, graphite, tungsten, and lead. But, the most important natural resource is coal. Coal is used to provide electricity, steel making, cement, and chemicals. Coal is important to the society because without coal, they wouldn't be able to produce electricity, steel, cement, chemicals, etc. They can also trade coal, and it is valuable. However, there are some drawbacks using coal. First of all, burning coal worsened South Korea's air pollution. Korea's air pollution was already bad but their just making even worse by burning coals every day. However, just because of air pollution, they cannot stop burning coals because 40 percent of South Korea's electricity is made by burning coals. This is important because South Korea would have to flee their country if the air pollution gets worse to the point they get diseases by just breathing air.

There are countless amount of ports in South Korea. Airports, heliport, railways, roadways, buses, taxi's, waterways, and merchant marines are all used in South Korea. There are total of 89 airports and 35 sea/ocean ports. South Korea uses transportation like airports and sea/ocean ports to import and export goods like fuels, oil, and other products. Additionally, since 3 sides of South Korea is surrounded by the ocean, they can import and export valuables easily. This is important because with this many ports, Korea can trade easily and a lot of tourists can visit South Korea.

Landform

South Korea has variety of landforms. South Korea is like a peninsula but bigger. 3 sides of Korea is surrounded by the ocean. However, I think that from all the landforms, the mountains are the most important landform. Between mountains, there are valleys. Valleys often have rivers flowing. South Korea use that water to grow crops. They also use that water to hydrate themselves. Mountains also make South Korea hard to invade. The Taebaek mountains border the east of Korea which can be helpful since Japan can always betray South Korea and invade them. South Korea also eats a lot of fish since there is the ocean surrounding Korea. As I said, since Korea is surrounded by the ocean, it makes it easier to trade especially since they use sea/ocean ports to trade.

The climate, movement, natural resources, location, and landforms all impacted the citizens who live in South Korea. The location of South Korea had both negative and positive impacts. South Korea has easy trade routes. This means they will have plenty of resources they need since they can trade easily. They also have hot humid summers, harsh dry winters, and dry/clean springs and falls which, in springs and summers, they have plenty of crops to grow but in winters, they harvest them. South Korea has to handle the harsh cold winters that are almost 4 months every year. Many natural resources are found in South Korea such as the most important, coal. They use that resource to make many things such as electricity. They have many ports. That means South Korea will import and export a lot of goods. 70% of South Korea are covered with mountains. Those mountains protect South Korea from countries like North Korean for example. Valleys also play an important role for South Korea. People grow a ton of crops in valleys. Therefore, South Korea has many benefits and drawbacks.
