As soon as he found out the women he was about to marry didn't live up to his expectations he returned her to her mother. "Then he kissed Pura Vicario on the cheek and spoke to her in a very deep, dejected voice..."(46). In the end she did not live up to his expectations so she wasn't worth being married.</div>]]></description>
