This line repeats the idea of wanting to be alone, which Christopher has mentioned before. I wonder if it is easier for him to be alone because people are so hard to figure out. Which they are btw!

This line shows that Christopher is very particular about what happens around him, and that he's very sensitive.  This line shows that when there are situations Christopher is uncomfortable in, he reacts violently and harshly.

Why doesn't he like people touching him? Did something happen that caused this? This line shows that he is sensitive to people touching him.

Ths line shows that even though Christopher didn't actually kill the dog, he's going to be under suspicion for killing it for this part of the book.  It shows that Christopher likes to be involved in situations, and wants to figure out what actually happened.
