We named him John (like John Deer) and we realized that mother deer leave their babies for multiple hours a day to go off to look for  food. We kept him for a month (not knowing if we should keep him or bring him back) then brought him back to where my friend found him. We went back a few days after and called his name, he came running to us very happy.
