There are common concerns across campus. There are good solutions to some of those concerns, but we often are stuck in the inability or lack of bandwidth to carry these solutions forward. We get stuck in our own bad habits.

We need more symposiums like this to help alleviate silos, but we need to either make it mandatory or find good incentives for people to come. Don’t schedule it on what faculty consider their vacation days.

The challenge of a small institution with big institution structures (read: overcomplicated) and a big institution with small institution methods (read: folksy) coexisting at the same time!

There is a common theme of having to do more with less, and we’re all trying to maintain “doing more,” but perhaps we need to take the advice of group ?B? And drop some things in order to accomplish other, high priority things. Which processes and/or activities are “essential” vs. which are merely “nice to have?”

We need to unite across faculty and staff to get to know, uphold, and promote one another’s strengths and challenges. We don’t need to compete with eachother. Rather, we can work together and learn from our beautiful differences!
