He became the Carthaginian general.  In late spring 218 B.C he led the army through Pyrenees toward Gaul.  His army more than 100,000 troops and nearly 40 war elephants.

Then over the next 3 years his army battled Scipio’s army.  All for control of Italian territory.  Scipio’s army won the battle by pushing the Carthaginians out of Spain. 

Eventually the romans became conquered by Hannibal’s growing power.  Then he was chased by the romans.  He got tired of running so he committed suicide with a vial of poison

Hannibal did all this for his father.  Hamilcar Barca (meaning thunderbolt.)  After his death the romans let the Carthaginians keep their territories.
