We let the kids shade a paper with a leaf underneath, then taught them about plant parts and their functions in a simplified manner. Instead of playing AEIOU, we watched them do roleplaying which was quite funny as they decided to “get married”. It was also quite tiring since we were down to 2 SLC members during the session as the 3 other members couldn’t make it 🥲🥲 But overall it was enjoyable. We learnt how to make sessions less chaotic when there are less members, such as by doing simpler activities that do not require us to keep on gathering them/giving them instructions.

It was a challenging process as we initially proposed many things but they ended up not working out because of time and other reasons! Something we tried changing about the EXCO selection process was the way to pick project chair - instead of running for the general position of project chair and negotiate within the 5 of them on which group to lead, allocated members of project groups can just vote for their own group’s project chair. The reason we wanted to do this was because we thought it is important for the project chair to lead a cause they are truly passionate in. But some concerns were that in a project group, if all members are not competent enough and we choose to vote them based on passion, it may not be good for the group.


Despite this, we managed to think of great ideas like the campaign deliverables to test candidate’s abilities. It took a really long time to think of suitable tasks to test candidate’s for specific roles (eg. different skills are demanded for president & publicity head/ animal project chair & children project chair), but I think it all went well in the end! 😆🙏
