Act 1 - Scene 1

Sampson and Gregory (two Capulet servants) are arguing and Sampson is trying to prove that he's not a coward. Later on Abram, Benvolio, and Tybalt join and eventually start fighting. Prince and the officers then come and break it apart. Once the fight is over, Romeo and Benvolio start talking, and Romeo keeps on going on about love.

In this scene, Lady Capulet, Juliet, and the Nurse are in the Capulet house. The Nurse tells Lady Capulet of how she raised Juliet, and how well she knows her. Juliet tells of how she doesn't dream of being married. Lady Capulet tells Juliet of Paris, and how he wants to marry Juliet. Juliet says that she will look, but she only looks because of Lady Capulet. Then a servant comes in and beckons them to go to supper.

In scene 2 Paris discusses with Capulet about marrying his daughter Juliet. Afterwards Benvolio and Romeo help a Capulet servant read a party list since he could not read and while reading the list Romeo and Benvolio realize they could attend the Capulet party, so Romeo could see Rosaline. Benvolio was skeptical about the situation Romeo was certain he wanted to go to find Rosaline.

In the Great hall of the Capulets, the servants were making sure all goes well during the feast. Capulet walks around the hall asking the guests to dance. Romeo sees Juliet from a far and asks a serving man whom she sees. At that point in time, Romeo instantly forgets about Rosaline, because he's never been in love, until this moment. Tybalt recognizes Romeo through the crowd. Tybalt clearly realizes that there is a Montague present to he sends for a servant to fetch him his rapier. Capulet overhears Tybalt and talks him down, telling him that Romeo is well regarded in Verona and that he won't do any wrong by being apart of the feast.

The first community is the Capulet who are a strict family but protect those in there care and unlike a lot of family's in this story they act like a family. The other community in this scene is the Montague which are a bit more easy going in the sense how they helped a Capulet servant read a list to a party showing the Capulet are more into the family feud then the Montague.

Juliet starts confessing her love for him, and Romeo shows himself, but not his identity. They talk about their love, but Juliet gets called inside her house, so she leaves, with much reluctance.

In scene 1, Benvolio, Mercutio, Tybalt and Romeo have all gotten in a fight. This eventually leads to two deaths, Mercutio's death, and Tybalt's death. Tybalt had killed Mercutio, which made Romeo furious, so Romeo then stabbed Tybalt and left instantly. Since Romeo has killed Tybalt, (who before that, killed Mercutio) he will not be paying the price of death since Tybalt was going to die anyways (for killing Mercutio). Instead, Romeo has been banished and is to never return again.

In this scene drama erupts as Juliet is waiting for Romeo to arrive at the Capulet household to consummate her marriage but as she was waiting Nurse ran in the door bearing bad news. The nurse was so distraught, not explaining her words, which makes it seem like Romeo is dead. However she eventually explains that Romeo had slain Tybalt, and Romeo had therefore been banished from Verona. Nurse leaves to find Romeo.

After a while of waiting, Nurse finally comes back although she refuses to tell Juliet anything and instead went on about how her back was aching (playing a little "game"). Nurse eventually says that Juliet must go to Friar Laurence cell (room) because that's were Romeo will be waiting so they can get hitched.

This is the scene where Friar Lawrence tries to comfort Romeo and find a solution for the terrible problems that have happened, such as his banishment. However Romeo believes that banishment is worse than death, because Juliet lives where he has been banished from. During this discussion, Nurse enters, looking for Romeo. Nurse tells of how Romeo and Juliet are acting the same. Romeo then tries to kill himself, but Friar Lawrence gives him a stern talking-to, and Romeo agrees to go to Juliet.

Lord Capulet comes to a decision by rushing into getting Juliet married (In a week or two), in thinking that she couldn't resist a great man like Paris.

Paris is talking with Friar Laurence to prepare about the upcoming wedding on Thursday. Friar claims to be concerned that Paris doesn't even know if Juliet wants to marry him and the fact that everything is happening at such a haste. Juliet comes to meet Friar Lawrence, and seems to dislike talking to Paris. When Paris leaves, she tells of how she doesn't want to marry Paris, and that she still loves Romeo. Friar Lawrence hatches a plan, in which Juliet will drink a poison that makes her fake dead, and when she is put in a tomb, Romeo will come back from Mantua and bring her away. Juliet agrees to the plan.

So Friar John comes back to Friar Laurence without having delivered the message, Friar Laurence get an awfully bad feeling. Knowing that the message hasn't been sent, Friar Laurence goes to the the tomb were Juliet lay, in thinking that he has to wake her alone.

In the last scene Paris, praying at Juliet's tomb, meeting Romeo. They fight till the last man standing, and Paris has been killed by Juliet's husband. Friar Lawrence is too late to save Romeo, who swallows the poison he bought in Mantua, and when Juliet awakens she is too late as well. When Juliet sees his body next to her she commits suicide for the one she loves. Friar Lawrence explains everything to the rest.

In the last scene, the death of three main characters in the book show a massive change to all these communities, most importantly Montague, and Capulet families. In this Scene the death of Romeo and Juliet means that each family has lost an important person, which brings much sadness to their families. However, Capulet and Montague realize the fault of this loss was the constant hatred that has been in between these two families for so long. In the end they decide to end the hatred, and become friends, bringing the two communities together.
