         <title>With the rise of maritime trade in states such as Portugal, England, and Japan, goods became an important asset to a state’s economy. With this rise in trade, the Industrial Revolution began in England which allowed them to produce more goods cheaply and faster with new technologies. This Industrial Revolution&#39;s influence spread throughout Europe which later sparked interest in other states such as China, Japan, and the Ottoman Empire. </title>

         <title>Both the Ottoman Empire and the Qing Dynasty turned a blind eye to military advances.  The Ottomans refused to advance their military techniques for the sake of keeping tradition, their Janissary were no longer getting proper training. Because the Qing dynasty were exposed to European tactics, but not enough in order to reform or gain real military benefit. The Qing dynasty and the Ottoman empire both had a weak military that led to their downfall because they chose not to properly adapt</title>

         <title>States/empires advocated for a constitutional government. Japan established a constitutional government with a legislature known as the Diet. The constitution gave the Diet limited power and reserved the rest of the power for the executive branch of the government. The Ottoman Empire also advocated for a constitutional government. High level bureaucrats forced the sultan at the time to accept a constitution that would depose a ruler if necessary.</title>

         <title>Both the Qing Dynasty and the Meiji government had established free education. For instance, Japan had made schools specializing in science and technology, which were made available to all citizens. Similar to the Meiji, the Qing had founded academies that additionally specialized in science. </title>

         <title>During the industrialization era, Both the Ottoman and Russians led legal reforms in order to solidify their state. Due to several groups who were rebelling against the state to try and reform (Ex. Young Turks), They decided to reform legal laws to avoid corruption in their judicial regions.</title>

They had illustrated an image of fear towards others but technological advancements were made due to the industrial revolution, and the empires did not adapt to the new technology. The Janissaries also neglected their military training, causing a huge loss of Military power. The Russins continual use of serfs led to opposition movements and turned the empire into a state of turmoil.
