1. I would say i was more so drawn to this piece because of the contrast of the greens that you have in your piece, green is one of my favorite colors personally. The text is another thing caught my eye right away. The way the text is wrapped in and out of the designs you have in the background, with the comic like superhero guy on the top right its all very cool and ties in very well together.

I love the use of different colors to give it a hypnotic kind of effect but my main question is what kind of style is this? My suggestion is to also add some different words in some of the text, but other than that it's pretty good! -CJ Jenkins

My favorite part of this is the flat, geometric shapes. Is the type used for the word "moodboard" the only type you would use? My suggestion is to really get those colors unified, each element is sort of different.

Alanna- I love the contrast of all the colors! The dark background, the bright red text, the off-white person, all bring together the vintage look. The simplification of the person makes it so they are all white, and further pushes the vintage design. I was wondering what "elements" means in this photo? I recommend adding something in the light spots, maybe even sharp shading to the woman to convey lighting. The lighting could be one color, to continue with it's look.

T: It's very well done how you used colors because, despite most of them being very similar, you made your colors stand out amongst each other using tone and shade.

A: How does old internet aesthetics make you think of Psychedelic and/or grunge?

G: The only thing I'd recommend is possibly making the background a bit more psychedelic using distorted images or textures, because this seems to lean more on grunge and retro.

Noah Anderson - (T) I really enjoy looking at this! The colors mix super well and work great with the psychedelic theme. It has really great patterns like the two mushrooms at the bottom along with the five circles of color. I also love the graphics used here as it fits the theme really well and draws your eye. (A) My questions for you is what makes something psychedelic? I understand the eye and hands and the purple but what about the internet symbols? And what about the planet? (G) My suggestion for you is maybe consider making some things pop out more. Everythings seems to mesh together but if you had certain this pop out more, it may add even more theme to the graphic but you did really good!

I enjoy the way you used shape, it really helped lead my eyes around. it also helped provide emphasis to the cat. Why did you choose that color scheme? I think you should make sure all the colors are cohesive though to allow the design to have more unity. -Rayla Giblin

T: The execution of minimalism was greatly done because of the way there is the bare minimum, but the blue highlight behind your name and the slight shadow behind it make it pop out in a very appealing way.

A: What made you go for minimalism?

G: The only suggestion I'd give is maybe less opaque (more transparent) so we can see the blue a little clearer.

Noah Anderson - (T) I really enjoy what you did here. It adds a lot of value to your art because you performed really well. I love the shapes you put over the pictures and how one takes up the whole side and the others take up some. The colors fit super nice and I love how you add red with the black and grey colors because it makes it interesting rather than having it feel like everything is a background. (A) My question for you is do these pictures actually connect to anything or were they just used for the art? Was there a message you wanted to drive out with them. (T) My only suggestion would be to make the text pop more or have it draw your eye a little more. The text "Shape Photography" was almost missed by me because it blends with the color behind it and is small. Good job!

Alanna- I love the details and textures of the hands! It really fits the "psychedelic" vibe. You also utilized emphasis really well, my eyes are naturally drawn to the hands and the writing helps that out. I wonder made you decide to repeat the words "trippy" "pop" and "art" specifically? I would recommend changing the background colors to more colder colors/contrasting colors to fit with the psychedelic vibe.

T: i love the color scheme in this piece it truly is cool, the way the each design ties into one another bringing the psychedelic look alive. One eye ball being grey scale with a scrapbook like look, another being in color with amore digital look to it. One thing that caught my eye is the tv dripping the colors off the screen i also thought that was pretty cool.

A: What made u think of the Tv girl ascetic, do u listen to the artist, any favorite songs etc?

T - This design is clearly displaying minimalism. The subtle background and clean color scheme unifies this composition. The balance is effective and efficient --there's not too much detail which leads me to believe the 'less is more' approach connects with modernism/minimalist.

A - I noticed the neon glow is no longer emphasizing the letters. What were your thoughts about your typography? What made you change your mind?

G - Although 'less is more' with this style, I'm wondering if you explored with visually balancing the weight of the text as an asymmetrical composition, meaning, what would happen if you shifted the type and color bar all the way to the left or right?

Noah Anderson - (T) Your post gives me a lot of questions which honestly makes it stand out. I do like the text font you did and the shapes pop out nicely because of the background color you choose. (A) My question for you is what does it mean? Most art doesn't give meaning right when you look at it but what made you go with what you did? It makes me courise. I also would like to know what theme did you pick? The theme looks simple and full of shapes or graphics. (G) My suggestion would be to make the "mood board" text pop out a little more by adding maybe brighter color to it. I think that would look nice and then maybe add text of the them you did or text that helps with what the theme is.

T - The balance of the design is very effective. I am drawn to the focal point of the piano player.

A - This design style resembles flat illustration or modernism. Was this the style you were trying to achieve? If so, working 'flatter' in a literal sense will help convey the message better. Your design could have only been one row of people and would still be strong!

G - I would encourage you to explore with more layers next time regarding value (check out the other Flat design for inspiration!)
