TVA stands for the Tennessee Valley Authority. The TVA tried to address the Valley's most important issues in energy, environmental stewardship, and economic development. People who lived in rural communities around the valley benefited from this program because they were able to receive electricity in their homes. The program was able to resolve issues such as power production, flood control, and reforestation, and was also able to help families in need of electricity. The program is still in existence today, and it continues to promote jobs and electricity for the community.
