Department of physics
Undergraduate study in Physics: Course VIII Focused Option

This is a course that focuses on preparation for graduate study in physics. It is a broad-based preparation for professional work in similar fields, such as biophysics, engineering and astrophysics. When you are finished you get a Bachelor of Science in Physics. More information here: https://web.mit.edu/physics/current/undergrad/major.html
There was not mentioned any subjects you required to have take in high school, but they do recommended to have at least one year of high school of physics, math (calculus), two years a foreign language and four years of English. Instead of focus on the grades to the applicants, they focus on interests and motive for why the applicant choose their school.
They do however require for international students to have taken a SAT test or ACT test. If one does not have English speak English at home or at school or have been using English for less than five years, they recommend taking the TOEFL test. MIT says that they highly values writing and communication. The standardized tests are also required for first year students, but they are not the most important factor when MIT chooses who are granted admission. To apply you write a mail to the school board where you explain why you want to study there. When they choose who to accept, they look at grades, scores, classes etc. – to ensure that each person is qualified and prepared to study at MIT.

MIT have the best science programs in the world. I want to continue study physics at university and wanted therefor to learn from some of the best in science. Yes, it might have been the reputation of the school that made me choose it, but I really do find it interesting to see what a top university for science require, and how it works.

They have their own societies that arrange social activities, and regularly updates a home page(es) with information about upcoming social events. Some examples of such events are a welcome pizza party and a Family Weekend reception. Here you can find out more about what social activities they offer, and look at their web pages: https://web.mit.edu/physics/current/undergrad/activities.html

The total estimated price for the 2018-29 school year for the undergraduates was $70.240. This is divided into different costs. Tuition and fees are estimated at $51.832, housing and dining at $15.510, and books and personal expenses at $2.898. The average MIT scholarship for undergraduate are about $23.000. The price is the same for local students and international students.
