As the overhead sun moves to the s. atmosphere during November to February, the insulation received is low, while as the land’s heat capacity is low, it will lose heat fast; in contrast, the heat capacity of sea is high, so it is retaining more heat than the land.
Therefore, there is a temperature difference between the land and sea, air will move from the high pressure( low temp. ) place to the low pressure( higher temp. )place. In result, a cold wind from the North west will blow from inland to the sea, so called winter monsoon

In March-April, it is Spring in Hong Kong. The temperature is getting mild, while the relative humidity and rainfall is getting higher. Foggy weather is also common.
The reason for this climatic characteristic is the overhead sun shift from 23.5S back to the equator, which more insolation will be received in Hong Kong due to the larger angle of sun. Then, the land heat up faster and thus have a higher temperature, which the air rises and have a lower air pressure. However, the ocean absorb heat slower and have a cooler temperature, which has higher air pressure. Thus, wind are blown from ocean to land(onshore wind), which is full of moisture that favour formation of rainfall in Hong Kong.
On the other hand, Hong Kong is still affected by the winter monsoon( but weaker). Since the air in the Pacific Ocean is getting warmer, when the cool air mass and warm air mass met in HK, the warm air condense and form foggy weather.
