Text to world: When Melody was getting mistreated and didn't get any respect, it reminded me of how this type of stuff happens all the time around the world and in society. Melody got treated with such low respect because of how she looked and acted, and people do the same thing and judge kids with disabilities all the time. This is not fair in my personal opinion because kids and people with disabilities she netted respected and treated like normal people no matter what condition they have. So what if a person is in a wheelchair who does not look like you, I should get treated like everyone else. We should stop this type of bullying in the world because all it does is make the world a cruel place. We should not treat kids like trash, because they are human to.
(256,257,258,259) chapter 28
Text to text: This book is different compared to many other books that I have read. One of the main reasons this is different, is because there is not as strong as a character role as most of the books I have read. Melody is a unique character who shows kinds and braveness no matter what. There is not a disabled character that shows as much respect, braveness, power and strength as her. She is a great inspiration to kids like her that are in this world. This book also sends a motto which is, "Why think of the 100 reasons you ca give up, when you should be thinking of the 1,000 reasons not to."
( This answer was needed with 100% of the book)

Conclusions to events to the book:
1. The first conclusion I am drawing to the book is about the Whiz kids quiz team. When I started reading the book, it started to be to good to be true. It was like a normal book that always was granting wishes. Melody got on the quiz team and competed and won her first competition. Then things started to fall downhill and her fairytale ended. Things started to get rough. She was then headed for Washington and she soon found out that her team had betrayed her. She was let down because of who she was. The author(Sharon M Draper) reversed the story so it was not a happy ending. She was let own by her team, and let down by herself as well.

The best visualizations I got from passages were the ones that had a lot of emotion and there was an important event. For example when Melody was at the airport being told that the Whiz Kids team had left her at home without letting Melody or her family know. I envision a young girl in tears who had no clue what to feel anger, sadness or disappointment.

Out of my mind was one of the most unique books I have read. It was like a reverse fairy tale. Melody was a 11 year old girl who had the disability of cerebral palsy and she suffered with it all her life. She was treated like a little kid and know one showed her much respect. She then got what was called a Media talker which changed her life for the better. She started to fit in with people and tried things outside her comfort zone. She was accepted onto what was called the Whiz kids quiz team and she was happier than ever. She won her first completion and then faced struggles. She struggled with an emotional roller coaster, leaving her speechless threw out the end.
(100% of the book was needed to answer this paddle sticky note

The book Out of my mind sends a strong theme to readers. The them is to never give up and never let others tear you down. For example when Melody was getting put down by two of her fellow peers, Claire and Molly. But Melody never let them tear her down so much to the point where she gave up. Throughout the whole entire story she stayed strong-willed.

My opinion on the book Out of my Mind by Sharon Draper is that it was outstanding. This book was full of surprises good and bad, it was full of heart warming gestures and a never ending emotional roller coster. It changed my outlook on life and what words can do to another person. Though this story only had four or five main events Out of my Mind is a one of a kind book that every person should take the time to read.

Sharon Drapers writing and craft style is to write stories that are current or topical, she wants to write stories that people who like excitement will want to read. According to an interview the ideas just come to her. In the story Out of my Mind it was based off of a child who was disabled and who was being mistreated, and that is a current topic/ issue we live with today. Personally I love Sharon Drapers writing and craft style, someday I would love to read more of her stories.
