On the better side, virtual teaching has allowed me to utilize Internet resources during my lessons I may not have been able to access if I were in person.

2) The biggest cultural difference I noticed from working in Barcelona has been the relaxed environment - all of their emails seem very genuine and include smiley faces, and all meetings are more relaxed and informal - this contrasts well to America, in which work is taken seriously and does not involve emotions and wellbeing as much.

My internship project revolves around a software code that takes a lot of processing time - it has been difficult to run the simulation on my personal device as it does not have a big enough processor and I've had to look at alternate virtual options to use instead. Through this I've learned to make use of different Internet resources as well. 

2.) Similar to what everyone has said, I've noticed a more relaxed and friendly tone in work environment and communication. My workplace has emphasized on reaching out if I have any trouble, meetings are more informal and there haven't been hard deadlines on my project which is different to more rigid structured American companies.

I am able to structure my day really well and maintain a good balance between work life and regular life. 

2) I have also noticed that the work environment is more friendly and conversational than the United States. I am finding that deadlines are more flexible here. Also, I have found to hard to catch myself when making comments about the times to meet or about the weather because in the moment I forget about the differences.

The easiest part about my internship is the fact that I am able to enjoy what I do. Listening to music throughout the way is pretty fun for me and to help others figure out how to go about improving a song is instinctual. One hard thing about my internship is the fact that there are many songs in a day I have to go through and it can get tiring because your brain has to be engaged just as much it was when you first started the day. 

2. In terms of cultural differences, I appreciate the work life in Spain. I feel like my managers are more easy going on me and more understanding. It makes it comfortable to speak to them if I have any complication, whereas in the states I usually would ignore my health and continue to do my work.

The best part about working virtually has been the flexibility that it offers in terms of hours and location. I do meet everyday to check in with my manager at a specified time, but after our meeting I have the freedom to choose my work hours. Furthermore, I am able to travel while completing my internship. 

2. I have noticed that instructions and deadlines tend to be slightly vague, but there are still high expectations for thoughtful and complete work. This is difficult at times because it is hard to know what exactly my managers expect in my deliverables. Still, even if I submit something that does not fully meet their expectations, they are always very friendly and thorough with feedback.

My favorite part about the internship is that I get to choose my own hours. There has been some external issues from the internship such as technological and personal which has made a structured work day near impossible. In addition, communicating with my supervisor can be challenging given the time difference, however, the google scheduler has surprisingly  worked really well in scheduling. 

2. I think the main cultural differences revolve around somewhat vague instructions and  flexibility in terms of deadlines. My task is very research oriented so a lot of time is dedicated on how to approach it. Finally, communication with my supervisor is much more conversational and friendly than I have experienced in America.

Working remote has given me the opportunity to choose my own hours of the day to set aside time focus on my internship responsibilities. I've been able to use my time wisely and balance my internship with other responsibilities, as well as travel. 

2. The biggest cultural difference that I've identified is through communication, whether it be via email or interacting over my weekly Zoom meetings. My supervisors are very easy going and don't assign too difficult of tasks.

After that, I have the freedom to choose my work hours. Furthermore, my co-workers have been amazing!

2. One cultural difference is that at the company that I work for, they aren't so strong about deadlines, rather they care more about the quality of content that they are publishing. I also noticed that they joke so easily and are very nice, whereas in America it's much more formal.
