Jacob- I feel included and protected.

James- Excited that I can play with my friends.

Jacob - When I bought something they'd put the price up. I felt annoyed.

We talked about Jesus' death and how it came as a shock and how people may have felt.

We also, know that God can bring good from some of the most difficult situations and is always with us.

When a person places their faith and trust in Jesus, God transforms their life. Can you think of any examples of when this has happened?

Felix: Moses, his mum put her trust and faith in God to keep him safe when she placed him, in the river.

Lyla: Daniel and the lions, the witnesses belief and faith in God changed when Daniel survived.

Leon: Noah's Ark, God saved all the people who put their trust and faith in him and in Noah.

What difficult things have you overcome?

Theo: When my dog had to leave my home.

Dale: When I fell out of a tree and I hurt my legs.

Jacob: My ticks - it feels annoying and its hard to concentrate with my ticks. Its distracting and uncontrollable. Sometimes they can hurt.

Thomas: First day of school.

Lois: Stage fright.

Did you ask God to strengthen and guide you through these difficulties?

Daniel: I prayed to God to help me through a performance in reception.

Felix: My auntie got sick so I prayed for her because I was worried.

Esme-Rose: I prayed to God to help me through a painful injury.

We created corn messages for Harvest, to send messages of hope to our community! These contained Bible verses based on Harvest.

Reflect on a time you have been patient?

Daniel - When I waited for my ipad to update.

Finn - When I was playing football with my team and we had to wait for the other teams to play first.

Lois - Waiting in a queue for a ride.

Flora - When you go to the airport and the traffic is bad.

Felix - When I had to wait 6 weeks for a Pokemon ball but it was broken so i had to wait another 6 weeks for a new one which was also broken.

The point of the vending machine is a central place for things you need.

Book publishing company, Penguin, have recently installed a book vending machine in Linlithgow Academy in Edinburgh.

Why do you think the books are in a vending machine ?

It's a good way of recycling, and maintaining a collection of books, that would otherwise be lost.

How important are human interactions ?

This weeks story, Amazon has told everybody who works with them that they have to work in the office 5 days a week.

This will take place on the 2nd January 2025. Amazon are doing things differently than what the government are proposing.

How does it make you feel?

Daniel - Sad, because I think I would learn better at home.

Leon - you can do work at home, but you cannot see your friends. I would be happy at home but really would miss my friends.

Jacob - I would be happy, as it maybe easier to work at home. I feel comfortable at home. Sometimes I feel uncomfortable at school.

There could be some people that are looking forward to going back into the office.

Full class discussion about how it would feel and the implications that could happen whilst people work from home, and also the problems of going back into the work environment.

Teams are better connected by being together in an office, or work environment.

Some people believe that it is better to work at home as they have become very comfortable with the situation.

Felix - in this picture it looks like the child is stressed about homework, also looks like the parent is frustrated. We can see her emotions quite clearly.

Mila - 2 friends at school, I think they are happy to see each other.

Lois - it looks like there is a boy teasing another child, by holding his shoe up out of reach. The girl in the background is laughing and thinking it is funny.

Jacob - pranking somebody, or playing a game.

Leon - this could be a science lesson.

How important are human interactions - important to spend time with others and share experiences. You have fun and share different things with them.

Companies like Amazon have many employees. There are laws to protect them.

Finn - I would rather work at school, rather than at home. As I am on my own.

A 23 year old British climber has become the youngest woman to summit the worlds 14 highest mountains. She is only the 2nd Briton to complete the feat, after quitting university, to follow her career path as a Mountain Climber.

What is hope?

Leon - is like having a lot of optimism that something good will happen.

Do you have hope for the future ?

Tom - yes, to have a good life in the future.

Theo - Yes I have hope that I would have a good life in the future.

Daniel - I have hope that I will earn alot of money, because I have already got my plan in place, to keep the money that I have and make it grow.

How do you believe having hope can impact your life?

Lyla - I feel like that if you do not have any hope in yourself, you will just continue along. You will become more brave and take risks. Could impact your mental wellbeing

Lois - You have to believe in yourself to succeed.

Does hope help you to remain motivated and persevere? Can it make you happy?

Esmai - Yes it makes you feel you can do anything

Daniel - With belief you can go through life you are one step closer to achieving things that you have when you have worked so hard for, means so much more to feel better for yourself.

Sometimes, you take a detour in life. Things don't always happen as you have planned. This is a good thing as you learn new skills and have great opportunities to expand your life. Always have hope and take every new opportunity to learn and grow.

Mr Dickinson told the children that the groups were learning about bullying and how as children in a school they can combat bullying.

Discussed at great length about bullying, who the pupils should tell, how and when.

Lyla - Ordinary woman called Mary, and a man called Joseph. She was told by Angel Gabriel that she was going to have a baby. Joseph didn't want to have a baby. But Gabriel told Joseph that the Baby would be a Son of God.

Daniel - In the Roman empire. They had to be counted, it was looked down upon if you were pregnant and not married. Joseph was told in a dream that he would need to travel away.

Finn - Knocked on doors, to see if they could stay.

Esme-Rose - King Herod - he didn't want Jesus to take his place. There was a lot of jealousy from the King.

Leon - Angel Gabriel goes to tell the Shepherds to follow the star. Gabriel also tells the Wise Men that they should follow the star.

How important do you think Angel Gabriel was in this story?

Mila - Gabriel was God's main messenger. He was given the job of spreading the word of God about the impending birth of His Son.

How can you show responsibility in the way we treat animals and their habitats?

Ella - we can put food down and help feed them.

Thomas - Burnley scoring against Rovers. When Burnley won the league at Blackburn I felt really upset.

Daniel - Lion King - got angry when someone killed.

Ella - Titanic - it made me sad when Jack died.

Cody - when we took part in the Tripod Worship

Esmai - In Year 4 we were doing DT, we had to work in groups and comprised every persons ideas to work together

Ella - In Year 2 doing pupil voice groups, had lots of discussions and decisions.

What kind of person do you like to follow or listen to when a decision has been made?

Tom - Manager in football - if you make a mistake, you could ruin the whole game. You need a good listener. If you don't listen then you may get into trouble and not do the right thing.

What qualities are really important?

Harry - Listening

Mr Dickinson showed how not listening and deciding for the class, can be upsetting.

Mila - You are being selfish, you need to think about what everyone else wants. They should be selfless.

The Nepalese government has announced that the price for the permit for climbing Mount Everest will increase. This will try and combat the problem of waste, by putting people out of the affordability bracket.

Daniel - think God wants us to remember that it is not only ours and we should preserve and respect our world.

In what way can travel bring people together and help us understand different cultures?

Asher - Everyone should see and try other peoples cultures. If you stay somewhere together you will not learn anything new, and you will get bored.

How can we, as a school community, show respect for the world even when we are not travelling ?

Madison - to think about the littering around school, be careful.

Cody - recycle cardboard and paper.

Finn - Put bird feeders outside to help look after God's creatures.

Lilly-Mai - could plant plants and trees to help build homes for wildlife.

Should we be allowed to travel anywhere we like ?

Paisley - NO because it might be in a country in war. It could be dangerous.

Leon - I think we should be able to travel wherever we want, to be able to explore the world.

Daniel - It means that you don't have to go, that it is a choice.

Leon - Jesus prays but his disciples fell asleep

Thomas - Stayed with his disciples for 40 days

Daniel - The time of his death was in Passover, which was the celebration when God helped to Moses to get the Israelites to Egypt.

Mila - God brought the holy spirit down to help the disciples.

Esmai - Not sure, think it would be good to have different things happening. Some people don't like football.

Aimraan - If it is used for other things, it could get damaged, the ground and the pitch could be damaged.

James - Rubbish could be left behind.

Daniel - Should not be used for other things. You can't use an ice cream stand for hot dogs. It could ruin the game, and it will cost alot of money.

How does it make me feel?

Leon - I feel angry, different things could damage the pitch.

Lyla - shocked, they could have used Old Trafford for the trophies or use it for something else. Repurpose it.

Jacob - Could the old stadium be used for the other concerts, maybe use it for a practice ground for children.

Eva - Embarrassed because the pitch could be demolished, and people would laugh at you.

Harper - I feel sad and angry, why can't they update the original one. Use the money for restoration of the old stadium.

Information relating to the new plans was discussed.

Harper - instead of making a new one, just renovate Old Trafford.

James - Use Old Trafford for concerts, use the new stadium for football

Jacob - I don't think it needs to be futuristic and as big as it shows. It seems really risky. You could loose your family because the venue is massive.

Lilly-Mai - I think it is a happy thing

Most children think its a negative thing.

Daniel - think its negative, already sad that Jesus died. I think it means that they are walking but every step is a hard one to take.

Esme-Rose - think its negative as they have heavy footsteps

Mila - I think that their steps were led by Jesus and now they think that they have to deal with everything on their own.

Daniel - There is a town that has a problem with their litter being collected

Leon - People don't want to go to the bin

The only bin you need to pay for is a brown bin. All other bins are free to every household.

Workers are on strike due to the belief that they are not being treated correctly.

Whose job is it to keep our local placed clean and tidy ?

Thomas - it is all of our jobs, when we litter we should put it in the bin, as it destroys our environment.

Madison - I think it is the councils job to clean our local places. If we pay money to them, they should clean.

Lyla - all around the world, it is our job to lean and keep it clean everywhere.

Daniel - its the bin men's responsibility as they signed up for the job. Just get rid of them and get new ones.

Leon - Why don't the government just employ more people. Get other people from other cities to work in different areas.

Daniel - Get the activists who are moaning about it, to get out and clean up.

How would you feel if this was in your area.

Theo - Angry and upset as it would be dirty.

Dale - It could limit my places to play.

Jacob - disgusted and upset. Heard on news that there are rats. Heard that people will leave town. A lady that was blind, got hurt when she walked into a pile of rubbish.

How would it smell, how would you feel if it was outside of your house ?

Daniel - disgusted and sick. People would think your house was dirty

Cody - Annoyed as everything would stink. It would block the roads and pavements.

Summer - I would feel disgusted, lots of bin bags would stink your house out if it was close to your house.

Finn - I think I would not be able to deal with it.

Esmai - I would feel embarrassed as it makes your house look scruffy.

Dale - It happens behind my house in the back alley.

What is VE Day ?

A celebration of the end of the war - VE means Victory in Europe. This year is 80 years ago when VE day was declared.

Why is peace worth celebrating ?

Ella - because everyone is stressful. Peace is worth a lot.

Flora - When its the war it is violent, when it has ended it is calm

Filip - When the war finished it was calm and peaceful

Finn - If VE Day is to celebrate the end of the War. Peace is at the end of the war and should celebrate peace.

Children watched a video clip about VE Day.

What does peace mean to the people in that video ?

Summer - The people would be happy. The spitfire was there and it will remind them of another time.

Lyla - They were in a lot of harm and had violence around them. Now we have peace, they are recovering what they saw and experienced.

Daniel - Once the war finished, it was victory over evil. Europe had succeeded.

On the 8th May 1945, VE Day was declared, shops reopened and life as they knew before the war was beginning to return.

Families could stay together in peace. Peace gives us all a chance to grow and learn.

After writing our prayers. The class went out into the reflection zone in the playground. The children sat and discussed their prayers together.

Can donating something important be a powerful way to show you care?

Thomas - when you donate to charity it makes a big difference. It shows that you care for the hospitals, people in need etc.

Mila - Donating shows that people care.

Theo - Donating shows that you are helping other people.

Asher - Sometimes people may donate to look cool or better amongst their peers.

This weeks story is all about how the Pope mobile, has been donated and is being refitted with medical equipment to be used as a mobile medical vehicle in Gaza to help children.

Madison - makes me feel happy as they can help alot of people

Thomas - it is inspiring, people need it to survive. It feels nice to share what we have.

The pope mobile is a special vehicle that the Pope can travel in to visit and see people around the world.

What will the Pope mobile's new purpose be?

The pope mobile that is being re fitted has not been used since 2014, it will be fitted with medical equipment so that people can help others in Gaza.

Summer - Pope goes to different countries, there are lots of cars that are in different countries.

Can you think of a time when you have donated something to another person?

Dale - When I get new stuff, I give stuff to the charity

Ella - I think we were doing burpees to help Mr T's cancerbank.

How does it make things harder to use sign language ?

Lyla - it could be hard to incorporate sign language, dancing and singing.

If you are deaf is it harder to sing ?

They use vibrations to know when and how to sing.

Daniel - If you dancing, you need to be in time, with certain times in music. You will need to communicate with each other to be able to dance.

How would you feel if you had to learn to communicate in a different way?

Madison - Happy because the lyrics are fun

Summer - I was surprised that they are doing

Lilly-Mai - Happy and Wondering - I wondered if they will ever be able to hear their own songs.

Theo - How did they learn the dances if they do not hear the music

Miss Young- Sign language has to be universal, so that things can be understood by everyone.

The band uses different technologies to make their music, Smart watches, Lighting boards. They sing using computer AI assisted voices, which is why they sound different.

Daniel - You need to go down and explore to know new facts about it

Mila - I agree with Daniel, they should be touched and looked at. People are searching the 95% of the ocean.
