In the first week, I realized that leadership isn't always a job position or responsibility appointed by an employer. Many, if not all, of us have experienced a role of leadership at some point in our lives. It could just have been a role given to us at a job, picking up some extra responsibility at home, or even in a group project for a class/classes. All being prime examples of leadership experience.

In this module, we took a personality type quiz and created a powerpoint slide on what we found. It was so interesting to see how to quiz categorized me based on my answers. Based on the VALS quiz, I was categorized a primary innovator, which I was pleased to see. New experiences are a large part of my daily motivation.

During assignment 3, we created a plan to implement more social media into a company's everyday culture and routine. By considering every employee and their varying comfort levels revolving technology, I felt as if I was getting more experience as a leader while implementing new ideas to a group. Going back to a topic we've been touching base on a few times, it also gave me a sense of realism for when I will have a shared vision and how it will most likely be a different experience for every team member.

A theme I really enjoyed was talked about in this weeks discussion posts. We spoke on what makes taking risks and personal motivation so worthwhile and where it comes from. I'd like to think that everyone is a good person and has good intentions to make changes for the better within themselves as well as for others, but the reality is that everyone has different reasonings behind their actions.

Trust is an essential part of any team, especially to and from the leader. Throughout this module, we discussed why trust is so important and although I try to maintain a trusting relationship with anyone and everyone involved in my life, it is a nice reminder to discuss the importance of it. Not to mention how imperative it is to understand the difference between personal trusting relationships and professional trusting relationships.

Talking about our own personal recognition and best accomplishments was an interesting topic to talk about in a leadership course. It makes you switch perspective from what you are used to thinking for this class. Personally writing about my accomplishment made me think outside of the leadership mindset I put myself into for the majority of the course. It was also nice to see everyone else flaunt and brag about their accomplishments as well.

This week's topic is one, if not the most important, part of being a leader. Knowing when and how to improve as a teammate as well as a leader. When you have an established, trusting, and positive relationship with everyone on the team, knowing when and where improvement is needed will be told to you and spelled out for you very simply.
