Plant #1 has a terrible spider mite infestation that I've been trying to control with a home brew "safer soap". Plant #2 has red tomatoes and I think I'll try the first one tomorrow. Plants #3 and #4 have less fruit and are slightly behind #2. I had 11" of rain in August, so there were many blossoms that dropped without being pollinated.

Nancy Redfeather - Kona: Yea, I finally have 5 healthy growing tomato plants in the ground. They are about 3 feet tall and have just started to flower. It's been sunnier lately and they like that a lot! Here is a photo of one of the flower clusters. Tomato flowers look like little birds.... .

Did a taste test of 2 of my tomatoes and compared with Chadwick (seeds from Hawaii Seed Growers Network). My #2 plant is the most prolific, lots of red tomatoes, no cracking, but the skin is really tough and the flavor is watery and not impressive. The #3 plant has greenish/brown fruits, the skin is much softer and the flavor is better. I also had Chadwicks which have a thin skin and good flavor. Interesting to compare. I have 2 more plants that are much slower ripening, they are just starting to blush color now. My seeds are drying now.
