Most of them are connected to religion and it uses fear as backing of the story. My friend told me about how her grandmother was told that she cannot enter kitchen during periods as it will bring bad luck to the wealth of family. This was transferred through generation and now they still follow it as a custom. - Caste-based discrimination occurs within households. Evident in how upper-caste families treat domestic help and it's ironic because the household cannot run without their help. We need to target this discrimination that occurs everyday.
- A lot of people from upper-caste families are oblivious to this daily discrimination that takes place. 
- Our education system does not address caste-based discrimination well enough & education does not necessarily translate to having progressive ideas and values.
