First i put the strawberry in the zip lock bag we smashed the strawberry into a watery consistency in order to be able to to squish the DNA out the strawberry, After for the second step we added the solution which was the soup, water and salt solution. Then we continued to mix the mashed up strawberry with the solution. After mixing thuraly for a couple minutes me and my partner thought that it was ready to be pored into the cheesecloth and what the cheesecloth did was separate all the chunks of the strawberry from the juice, the juice fell into a beaker then was pored into a test tub which then the ethanol would be pored on top. After we waited for a couple seconds and began to see in between the two laters which were the strawberry juices mixed with our solution of water, soup and salt we were able to see a clear thick bubbly consistency forming we took the stir stick that was given to us and stuck it straight into our test tub without mixing the strawberry with the ethanol and took the stir stick out to see a clear slimy, guwy, sticky consistency of strawberry DNA.

What we did for this lab was we did an experiment to extract the DNA of a strawberry. What i learned was that in one of the procedures we had to use alcohol and i learned that alcohol doesn't freeze and turn into a solid. What i would do differently is take more pictures. The next step after removing the DNA from A strawberry i believe would be sending it to a lab. Two examples of traits in A strawberry would be the sweetness of A strawberry and the color of a strawberry.
