I feel that I could have gave her more freedom with the choreography even though its meant to be my choreography but she could have given her own flair and that could have sparked ideas for myself for future choreography. The first part of the piece I felt was easy to choreograph to as I was very familiar with the song and I’ve been doing a lot of contemporary so my rage of movements has expanded since then and helped me with the first part of the piece. Whereas the second piece I still found easy to choreograph to but not as easy as the contemporary side, I have done street for many years before so I have a good understanding but when it comes to choreographing the piece it was quite difficult even though my dance background is mainly street, so where it come choreographing it slowly became easier to choreograph to I enjoyed the music I had chosen which helped with the creating the movement. I feel that I could have spent more time with my dancer and had longer or extra rehearsals so that I could have created a more intricate dance and more technical dance. My dancer didn’t let me down when it came to rehearsals as she was reliable and she turned up to every rehearsal and if I had organised an extra rehearsal she would turn up.

If I was to do this again I would definitely be more organised with the mount of choreography I had prepared and I would also use my time more wisely as we would only have lunch to teach her so if I had come more prepared it would have helped with my time management as I would not have wasted time thinking about choreography and which part of the music I wanted. I also would start rehearsal sooner than I did just so that we had enough time to put together the piece as well as refine the movements as well as not let my dancer be under pressure to learn and refine the dance. I would also think about a more suited costume for my dancer as I didn’t really know what to put her in as it was a mash up of styles so I had to pick a costume that would suit both, so I gave my dancer an idea of what I wanted her to wear and she pulled through and wore shorts and I t shirts as they are both suited to both styles so that meant that the dancer was comfortable in the costume. 

Overall the choreographic process wasn’t my strongest point and I didn’t feel overly confident with my choreographic process and how I organised it and I got the same feedback from my tutor that I could have done a lot better with the process and how I went about it.
