Subject: I believe the subject of Over You is that a guy and a girl were at a party and the girl was drinking and the guy was getting annoyed with her. While they were driving, the girl distracted the guy that was driving and made him crash into another car and it killed the guy.

Occasion: The occasion of this song and video would be that in that the girl was distracting the guy driving, and the guy was obviously very annoyed. These actions caused for the guy to take his eyes off the road and get into an accident, taking his life. Now the girl has to live with the feeling that she took someones life.

Audience: The audience that Chris Daughtry intended this video would be anyone who parties and is trying to teach them to be smart with their actions.

Purpose: I believe that the purpose of this song was to teach and inform people how drinking could impact your life very negatively. Sara, the girl in the video, has to live with the feeling that she technically took someones life. Throughout the video, it cuts to videos of her sitting in a chair by herself. But as it goes on, it shows the she was at a meeting, and in the way end, she comes out and intends to talk about the situation.

Speaker: The speaker of this video would be Sara. It would be Sara because the song is told from her point of view, saying how her actions led to the death of the guy driving the car.

Chris Daughtry presents many different Pathos and Logos appeals through his music video. The emotion of the video is very intense and saddening, but also sometimes where Sara represents that she is mad. There are also multiple different figures that are shown that I will explain in my explanation of this music video.

The tone of this song varies throughout the entire video. At the start, it's saddening, then it turns into kind of a mad or angry feeling. It is also very intense throughout the video, but more intense at some parts. It changes and goes back and forth between the tones as it goes through the verses and the chorus.

There are multiple different emotions that are displayed in this video. As I stated before, the song starts out with a sad feeling as he says "I can't believe you were the one, to build me up and tear me down". It shows how Sara was hurt and didn't know if she could ever get over it. But then it turns into her getting more mad than sad when she says "Just left me cold and out of breath" and "I guess I let you get the best of me".

As the song goes into the chorus, he starts to show that she's getting better and better, and it's becoming easier to talk and come out about it. It says in the lyrics "Now i'm picking up the pieces, from spending all of these years putting my heart back together", it really shows how shes finally becoming better.

As it leads into the next verse, he shows some of the same emotions that were shown in the first verse. He shows some mad emotions towards herself and how it was her fault that he's dead.

The chorus then repeats twice to end the song.

There are many different ways that Ethos was represented in this video. It shows when at the start of the video, Sara is drinking at a party, and is getting really drunk. That then leads to her distracting the guy, and causing him to run into a car and kill himself. Sara would be credible for this because it was technically her fault that he got killed.

The way that Sara looks throughout the whole video shows us that she is a moral character. Morals are a very big part of Ethos and it really shows because of how sad she looks. It goes back and forth between the videos from the party and when she was with the guy, all happy and excited, and when she is sitting in the chair wearing the hoodie with the hood over her head, and showing the characteristics that she is very sad.

At the end of the video, it shows another part of where Sara shows her morals and when she comes out to the support group that she is a part of and starts to talk about he experiences with him.

Overall, I believe that Chris Daughtry did a very good job explaining Sara's feelings through the lyrics. It was almost like he took the viewer on an adventure when he goes through all the different stages of feelings she has. It starts as a happy feeling when shes at the party, to then having the guy be in an annoyed state with her and getting distracted, causing him to crash, to a very sad state for Sara once he is gone.
