I really like this music video made by filmmakers all over the world where people answer the question of what it means to be human. I think it’s a really beautiful and thoughtful composition of ideas and opinions from a diverse range of voices.

I have a love of spoken word poetry and have enjoyed attending slams. I find it a powerful way to break down barriers and give topics that can be uncomfortable or triggering a voice and used as a springboard for discussion.

I chose this example to share because not only does it deliver it's message using the spoken word but it uses two voices telling their story in a clever and effective way. I also find the message of using our own voice shows the importance of personal stories.

This is one of my favourite dance theatres made by Pina Bausch. We can see the stage covered with fresh soil and the dance full of great tension. The chosen sacrificial maiden dances in a red dress until she dies, fighting but unable to control her destiny.

I think the dance is a metaphor for the real world, which has also been promoting the sacrifice of female. Actually, I don't like the story behind the dance because someone sacrificed.

I would like to share a retrospective video about 2022. The producer edited together news footage from the past year, both sad and happy, national memories and common memories of global humanity. I think it is very meaningful, it records our past and evokes our common emotions. When these news images are put together, I can feel their power, as if they were telling a story, a common story about our past.

The Blooming Laziness

I slumped on my sofa as usual on that day

yet again was overthinking to when i’ll go out again in may

That parasite is sticked to world very strangely

every life is self absorbing each other vaguely

why we were nonchalant to that earth before

when the nature was not vague to its own condition afore

when now the mother beauty is backfiring

here we are nettling our own firing

we humans made the sun cry and the extinct pry

we are blooming into more laziness in these days

even if by sketching , colouring , writing , eating or many ways

maybe this extreme laziness was an actual punishment

so we can heal this mother beauty with a new heavy amount of replenishment

we are gonna see a new world of hope and joy

and now can be more careful in making the earth’s foy

This is the link to the podcast I host. It was originally to support the women I worked on a book collaboration with as a tool for marketing. But, just like the book, it has grown more and has a greater meaning to me. The conversations are raw and very little editing is done to enhance them or disrupt the conversations and stories of lived experiences being told.

The film tells a story about Nanjing Massacre. It is told from the perspective of a schoolgirl, Meng Shujuan. Since it is about the story after the fall of Nanjing, the main focus is on the survivors - the schoolgirls and the women of the Qinhuai River. In this war, women were the group that suffered the most. They faced not only the threat of death, but also the humiliation of being abused.

In order to protect the students, the women of Qinhuai River cut off their long hair and dress up as students, instead of students to be abused by the Japanese. Zhao Yumo said, "As long as we can come back alive we will be able to live. How can we let the little girls deal with this kind of thing. Even if they come back alive, will they still be able to live?"

Jacob collier‘s audience choir was a huge inspiration for my artwork last year. The way humans naturally sync up whilst singing (or moving) together is a really emotionally profound representation of how we are all intrinsically connected to each other. This is what made me want to do big vocal harmonies with the Loughborough choir who became part of my art. The emotive feeling that is produced when we hear voices in unison is so incredibly powerful and works as a way of communicating a message or story that is difficult to ignore or dismiss.

I spent some time today thinking about listening, noise, and silence prompted from discussions during today's session. During this I came across this video.

TW: EXISTENTIAL CRISIS this is a random picture in relation with the existential crisis that often or sometimes must have happened to majority of people. It holds an honest view on how we can be seen trapped inside a bad thinking cycle of “what’s next?” Or “what is the point of everything or every second”?

This is an experimental film from the New Wave period of French cinema that uses static images throughout the film to simulate human memories, telling a story about war, love and time. In the film, images, sound and narration are cleverly combined to make the story powerful and rhythmic.

The performance art that impressed me the most was Rhythm 0.

Rhythm 0 was a six-hour work of performance art by Marina Abramović. The work involved she standing still while the audience was invited to do to her whatever they wished, using one of 72 objects she had placed on a table. These included a rose, feather, perfume, honey, bread, grapes, wine, scissors, and even a gun.

There were no separate stages. Abramović and the visitors stood in the same space, making it clear that the latter were part of the work. The purpose of the piece was to find out how far the public would go, What is the public about and what are they going to do in this kind of situation.

This particular song by Adele holds an impact on me as a storytelling student as it has a rhythm of a quintessential daily life of a human being and their struggles with inner conflicts. The conflicts can be varied depending on each situation but we will stand tall at the end of the day and the whole hassle of a situation. :)

This is a website, which shows awesome web development skills but at the same time it is a great storyteller. The website is like a comic book but better. It has movement and sound for the readers to get fully submerged in the story (pun intended). I can't explain it's beauty completely, one needs to visit this website and experience it by themselves.

This painting by Tahlo tells the story about her miscarriage and the relationship between her past self and the how she was after the miscarriage. The connection of heart and the zygote in her hand expresses a lot her emotions and state of mind, just by looking at this still painting.

After Yang(2021) is one of my favourite films. Yang, an android owned by a family, broke one day. The father goes to fix Yang, and he sees Yang's memories during that process. What would people want to remember if they could only record a few seconds each day?

Yang's memories are presented in a beautiful way that I thought it may relate to digital storytelling.
