Asking questions about something can further deepen their understanding, making their learning better. Developing skills like these can improve students learning and make learning for them interactive and interesting.

karis ow (15) 6 DILIGENCE

a) I think the girl in the photograph is feeling overjoyed. It is because she do not need to see face to face with the teacher and I can see a smile on her face. She can also ask the teacher through the chat without letting other students know. If she doesn't know how to do the question she can just check online for answer. She might also feel confident as she is rasing her hand confidently to ask question I think this way because she might feel more safer to share it here as she can off her camera and nobody will know who ask that question.

B)I think it might be hard to ask question if you are shy or is scared to be laugh at. Sometime the class might be too noisy and the teacher can't hear you , or the teacher might not see your hand if everybody is standing or running around in the class.

c) Some study skills that I think students should develop is that when there is homework given by their teacher they should do it before deadline. This prevents teachers to wait for the student and can't continue as the student is not done.` Another skill is that students should ask teachers questions if they do not understand. When they reach home they should use what they have learnt and put it in a notes so that in the future they can revise and will not forget what they have learnt.

Wafiy

1.The girl might be feeling confident as she is raising her hand up with a smile on her face as she knows the answer. She also might be feeling comfortable as even though it is an online class, she is able to share her opinion.

2.Both yes and no. For the answer yes, I feel comfortable answering questions that I really understand and if I have to share an opinion. For the answer no, I have an uneasy feeling whether to answer or not when I am not sure about the question or I do not understand the question or the topic.

     3. My opinion is that children should develop a habit of writing a schedule based on their upcoming exam so they are aware of what to revise or focus on. They also should develop a timing which includes after studying they could rest for a short time to relax themselves so they are not that stressed any further.

Halim:

I think the girl in the photograph is feeling excited as it is probably her first time having an online lesson. I think she is raising her hand to answer questions because in online calls, your video will be on and the teacher will be able to see your face, her teacher is probably asking her classmates if they had any questions. I personally do like online lessons as it is very convenient, you can just turn on your device and type in the meeting code. Plus, you can do it anywhere any time. During the Covid period, we always had to use zoom to do the online lessons hosted by the teachers.

I find it quite easy to ask questions as I know questions help us develop our understanding of a question we have. In my tuition class, my teacher always asks if we have any questions, I will always ask him about the questions I do not understand. Questions are also not that hard to ask, all you have to do is raise up your hand and wait for the teacher to call on your name.

Students should develop a habit on always being on task as right now, most students attention span is not the best. They need to develop a good habit on being on task so you will not ever finish your homework at the eleventh hour. Another study skill is to take down notes, notes help us remember what our teacher had taught us in lesson and it helps a lot for revision.

Nerine

1) the girl may be feeling engaged in the lesson as she is raising her hand and smiling. This shows me that she is interested in the lesson and confident enough to answer a question given by the teacher or her classmate.

2) Well, it really depends on the question. If it's a easy question, such as What is my favourite colour, I can immediately answer it. However, if it's a question that requires me to think, I may need a longer time to craft the answer.

3) Some study skills that every student should have are discipline and time management. If students lack of discipline, they will not be focus and get of track. And without time management, the students will be very confused on what to do. Furthermore, lacking time management will cause the students to procrastinate and not do all of their work.

1). the photograph shows a girl sitting in front of a computer with a book in front of her. She is also wearing headphones and raising her hand. i think the girl is in her own home and taking an online lesson. the girl in the photograph may be feeling joyful as she is smiling. I also take online lessons for my math and science, i think online lessons are a good replacement for physical lessons as it lets the students look at what the teacher is showing and they can feel more immersed in the subject.

2)I do not find it difficulty to ask questions as i am not afraid to speak up. in a class environment i do not find it difficult to ask questions either as most of the time, the teacher will ask many questions and i can answer at least 1 of them.

3)Some study steps. first, i think are crucial for a student is making a timetable and planning time smartly. if a student does not plan smartly, they will have many thing to do and will be tired after doing a little work. second, work will also pile up if a student is lazy and always does homework at the last minute. a student should also ask many questions to deepen their understanding on a subject. Also students should take down points in a notebook to remember a lesson. Taking notes will also help a student revise better for tests.

Sometimes you will think that people would judge you for not being able to understand the thing you are learning. I have once not able to understand a solution in a maths question. I have attended online classes on zoom during the covid-19 period as we could not go to school, it was a new experience and it was interesting as I could try something I had not tried before, attending online lessons. I hope that schools can have more of such experiences, for students to try out something they have not tried before and get the feel of attending classes online instead of going to school.

b)I find it easy to ask questions, as when you ask questions, you are clarifying something and might even learn something new or pick up knowledge

in my opinion, I think that asking questions is very useful.

Arabelle:

1)I think the girl in the photograph might be feeling happy but also sad. As I can see the smile on her face, I feel like she might be feeling happy. Another reason she might be feeling happy is because when she stays at home and study she can eat whenever she wants and can also take short breaks in between. I feel like this will help her be more attentive because it gives her more energy to study. For feeling sad, I feel like she might not be able to speak with her friends or make friends. I do not think this is a good thing because making friends is a way to communicate better and also you can express your feelings .

2)I don't think it is that hard to answer questions because if you get it right, you will feel good but if you answer it wrong, you can learn from your mistake and maybe know more ways you can answer the question. I always like answering questions because it really makes me understand the question more. Yes, sometimes it can make me embarrassed but most of the time, I can answer the question better the next time it is asked.

3)I think studying in an environment where you like and feel comfortable in will help you be more focused. In my opinion, I like studying in an environment that has little people because it won't be too noisy and you can ask the people there for help if you need to. Studying alone does not help beacause you won't learn anything from your mistakes and will continue making the same mistake. I have tried various types of studying environment and my favourite has to be working with little people.

Zofia (40)

I think the girl might be feeling focused and excited for her lesson. She has a smile on her face and has her hands raised. This expresses that she is engaged and is attentive in the lesson. For me, i usually struggle to pay attention to lessons as i struggle to focus. The girl seems undistracted and she has her notebook open to take notes.

I do find it difficult to ask questions as i naturally just feel like that i should try to solve it on my own first before asking. It is also that some people would scold me for asking questions when i don't understand something as they think that am not paying attention in class; which i dont sometimes. However, when i dont understand something, i will pay attention. I am generally scared of asking and communicating with teachers that get mad easily. Most of the time im just afraid of judgement from others and i would ask others briefly.

i think a skill children should develop since young is revising the things that you had just learnt. This is to ensure that they remember what they had learnt before and is the most simple study skill everyone should know. Frequent revision and doing assessment books should be done too. Assessment books give practice to children to grasp the topic about whatever they are doing. It also introduces different formats of questions for children to know. This is for them to not only get good grades, but to ensure that they understand the topic fully. Students should also make it a habit to not get distracted when studying.

For online ones, you can just cancel the video of your classmates starring at you so you won't get nervous. Last time, when i was having online lesson, I could speak more confidently and ask the question I want because when I speak face to face in my class, I get nervous and stammer. So i think the girl is feeling happy.

2.No, because I am fine with asking because asking questions help me understand better what teacher is saying. I am confident so I don't think it is too difficult.

3.Children should have the skills to complete their task with the time given as is they could not do it within that time that means during exam they might not use their time well and leave many question blank resulting in them not getting high marks. They also need to be hardworking and not lazy because if they are lazy, they will not revise their subjects, and in the end they might also get bad habits.

Ethsn Lee 6DI (16)

I think the girl looks excited and elated but deep down she is sad as real lessons are much more interactive and you get to discuss with friends. However, online lessons do provide convenience but it is not the way that lessons should be taught, as students could easily be doing other things such as playing video games or just not listening. Once, during Covid, I was having an online class when I saw one of my classmates was not paying attention, but rather seemed more focused to something below his table. Since the class had forty or so pupils, the teacher did not realise and the student did not learn anything. I think that if another pandemic or disaster happened and real face-to-face lesson could not happen, I suggest that the school could use AI to make sure that students are attentive.

I do not find it difficult to ask questions, as I believe that I should ask questions to deepen my understanding. Maybe some people find it hard as they are scared of something, but I understand and can relate as I was once like that. When I first joined school, I was a scaredy-cat and was scared people would laugh at me and call me a nincompoop for asking what the difference between a table and a chair was. However, I consider myself lucky as in Primary 3 I joined Speech and Drama as it was the only cca available. Thanks to my cca, I overcame my fear of being laughed at. I suggest that everyone should try to overcome their fear as they may not learn anything without asking questions.

I believe students should learn to be more interactive and proactive in class when it comes to class discussion. We should raise our hands when in doubt to further deepen our understanding as well as benefit us when we grow up and have to present in front of our co-workers and other people. Once, I was sitting next to my friend in class but he seemed troubled. I asked him and he told me he did not understand what the teacher meant by the fact that a table and a chair was different so I told him to ask the teacher to elaborate but he said he was scared other people would laugh at him. I comforted him and nudged him to ask the teacher. Eventually he did and found out it was not so bad. I suggest that we should encourage our friends to ask questions more instead of being scared people would laugh at them for asking the difference between a chair and a table.

1 I think the girl is feeling happy and excited as she has a smile on her face and is raising her hand excitedly. She might be in a Zoom meeting with her classmates and friends as she is at home wearing her headphones which is connected with the laptop and reacting to what is being shown. Maybe, the teacher is asking a question and she knowns the answer and raised her hand enthusiastically wanting to be pick by the teacher

2 Yes , I find it sometimes difficult to ask questions. Sometimes when I ask people whom I do not know questions, they might be uncomfortable to answer it or not being able to answer the question . When they are like that , I feel shy and embarrassed asking a question . But if I am asking a question to someone I know well , I would not be hesitant to ask as I am already close with the person and know he/she well , so I will know what questions to ask them without offending them.

3 Children can study for about an hour or two in a daily basis, do the work assigned to them and revise on what the teacher had taught in class. This helps to be more responsible in their work, being prepared earlier for what the teacher will teach next time and being more clear of what the teacher had taught them. In the end , their results will be good and they and their parents would feel proud , and would have no regrets of not studying earlier. As a result, I think my opinion of the methods I gave are achievable and helps students to study well.

Do so also gives you a stronger foundation and that you can learn at your pace, unlike at school. That is why I suggest students to learn in advance.

Lee Shu En

   Question 1:

I think the girl in the photograph is very excited and very delighted having an online lesson. It is because she is smiling and being participative as shown in the photograph by raising her hand. In my opinion, I love having online lessons because we get to stay in the comfort of our home and get to do whatever we want. Of course most people would say that we may not meet our friends and communicate with them but I think we can send each other emails or just directly message them through certain apps such as Whatsapp, WeChat and way more. In this generation, a lot of people would spend their time on their phones and it has really become a habit of theirs to check their phones once in a while. Therefore having online lessons would be more convenient and students would know how to use them very well as they use the devices alot. However, there is downfalls to having online lessons too. Having online lessons, teacher might not know what you are doing such as playing video games due to split screen, eating in class but the rules in the classroom should still be abided to at home. In the photograph, the girl is raising her hand so I think she is paying attention. During HBL, we had zoom and it was very different that it usually is in the classroom. I felt more comfortable at home and can wake up at 8am in the morning instead of 6. I felt like I was not rushed and have a lot of time to do what I need to do. The online lessons was much more boring in my opinion as there is not much hands on activity but listening to the teacher talk. Either way, it is much more fun to do things at home. I suggest we should we have more learning at home like our own study days.Question 2:

I find it difficult to ask questions. It is because I have a fear of raising my own opinions but Im still trying my best to be confident. As a PSL, I think it is important to raise my own suggestions as it could help others. The fear most people have is being judged and I do too. Im petrified that my suggestions are not good enough but Im trying my hardest to suggest some other suggestions. I always have a feeling that my friends would laugh at me and more. My friends usually like making jokes at me and thats why im terrified of sharing my ideas. I think its just social anxiety and I should overcome this fear. I think I should overcome my own fears of social anxiety.

Question 3:

Some study tips I have for children to develop is to read everyday and do some practice papers. I think it helps to strengthen peoples mind.

Phoebe

1. I think the girl might be felling excited as she is raising up her hand and smiling, she is also sitting up straight and paying attention to the class. I also have an online science class I usually hate the class as the teacher usually scolds me, and I never look forward to the class. During the lesson, I look like I am very tired and not paying attention. Another reason I do not like the class is that I am scared to answer or ask questions as my teacher might scold me for not paying attention in class. I think I should be like the girl and pay attention to the class more often.

2. I think it depends on the lesson I am having ,as if I am in a class where the teacher is not so fierce I would raise up my hands. However, most of the time I am scared that my classmates will find my questions weird and make fun of me. So i usually just sit down and listen to other people ask questions.

3.I think asking questions is a good study skill as if we do not understand the topic, we can just ask questions and understand. If we just sit there and do nothing, we would be clueless and do not know what is going on.

Kaylee

1. I think the girl is feeling excited and curious as there is a smile on her face and she is raising her and wanted to ask a question to clarify her understanding. This reminds me of the Covid-19 pandemic when we were learning from home on online classes.

2. I do not find it difficult to ask questions as I know that it can help me understand more about the topic and answer my doubts. Some times I do find it difficult as I am afraid of how others might judge me as or think that I don't understand a very easy question.

3. Some study skills children should develop is being attentive during class and take down all the important notes that you heard in class. You could always take a little note book with you so that you have a place to take the notes down when it is fresh in your mind. They also should to ask questions so that they can satisfy their curiosity. Some times, parents cannot answer like how teachers can and we might not understand.

I think the girl is also very attentive as she is raising her hand to answer or ask questions.

2) I find it difficult to ask questions. I find it difficult as I am scared that the teacher would scold me for not listening although I did listen and I just do not understand what the teacher means. I am also scared that my classmates will laugh at me.

3) I think children should develop some study skills. They should put away all distractions when studying as that might make them not able to focus. Children should also play only after doing finish their work and not during when they are doing their work. Children should also frequently revise their work to remember what their teacher taught them.

In conclusion, children should develop good study skillls.
